You'd think, and yet...

Wasco(nians?) were calling for Forceuser's job after his speech at Shafter's community rally was streamed online.  Apparently, they didn't take kindly to being referred to as "a-holes," or his impromptu interpretation of the "What's Best in Life" scene from Conan the Barbarian.

I will say this...I should not have called them A-holes, for that I have apologized a lot.  I have to be better than that.

They should get a 4 year playoff ban from ALL SPORTS. Same should go for any school or team that acts in such a manner. Hit them in the wallet, then the school will give full attention to the way their athletes act on and off the field.

thats excessive, you are now punishing kids that had nothing to do with it.  Im all for the hammer being dropped.  Shoot, there is a bigger punishment from the CIF for using a non Spalding footballs during the play-off games.  It's a joke.

Woah, no one loses their livelihood when they lose their coaching gig... he might be losing out on $5,000 if he's lucky.

My thoughts exactly.....

Why do we think that high school coaching in the Central valley if not all over the country, is such a HUGE job as to put guys on the hot seat.  Like I told someone this week.  So your telling me I could spend more time with my wife and kids, have less stress, evenings free, no parents issues, no fundraising, no worrying about grades or dealing with  discipline, putting in stats, keeping hudl up to date, doing a game program, weight room, admin, money Spent, social media, community service events, sending out recruiting stuff for your guys and actually coach football(I know I am leaving something out).  Other than not having a game and kids in my life that I love, explain to me why I should care about a hot seat.

So shove your hot seat up your butt....

you have touched a nerve, 9 times out of 10.  Most coaches coach, because they love the game that gave them so much and love the kids they coach.  Here is food for thought, the teachers union for the KHSD, fought and was able to over turn the KHSD's efforts to give more stipends to sports programs.  So they could actually pay some of these guys and gals that poor into the kids day in and day out.

ShafterAlumn is right.   My thing about the SSL is that we are already at 7 teams.  Taking it to 8 is stupid.

DT started fights with all EYL schools this year. new coach this year and he's learning fast about DT. DT is not competitive in all sports in EYL. Delano wants to go to south sequoia and they should. Stay classy DT

The SSL doesnt want....keep them.

Had a debate with someone today and was wondering if  anyone in Prep land can help.  What is the knee pad rule for high school now?  Can you still use the small circle knee pads or do you have to wear the full knee pads now.  I could of swore we were told by officials that they were going to start emphasizing the full knee pad now.

Thank you in advance!

The knee cap must be fully covered.  That is how I read the rule.  At the next meeting with officials we may find out that it is new rule of emphasis.  But to be honest, with all the new clock management rules, the round vs full knee pad is the least of the officials worries.

I would go to a frosh-soph that plays a JV schedule in a heart beat if I could.  Having 2 teams of 21 gives kids great experience but it also puts kids at risk.

Here is the thing about the preps.  If you come on her and rant,  there is always going to be someone to challenge your rant and make you back it up with facts.  This isn't Twitter or facebook where you can just sit with followers or friends that will just say, "Yeah".

What's your take on this Force, I believe that this is a result of guys that are ego driven and unwilling to learn the proper way to not only teach the game but the way the game it's self.

It's a mixture of leadership not demanding that proper teaching is given, and a lack of knowledge.  Most people do what they know.  Most Dads these days still grew up in the old ways of coaching.  Just in the last 3 years, my coaching style has had to change.  Not only in how I approach kids, but also in how we approach the game.  We have had to change our ways of doing things.  This is a hard thing to do for men in general.  But for the health, well being and future of the game we have too.  At the junior level you don't see that at all.  Part of the problem is a lack of know how and want too.  Part of it is leadership not demanding that it is done.

For every 1 good junior coach there are 5 horrible ones.  It's not because they are bad guys, it's just they don't know better.

I know we have a open door policy for our junior coaches.  My door and practices are always open.  But it's hardly used.

All I can tell you is that the version the SS is doing is bull crap, and if implemented here in the CS would stink.  For every 1 team that is "punished" for recruiting, there would be 4 that would be screwed to punish that 1 team.  It does not add up.  The CS is not the SS.

This whole notion of athletic equity is as flawed as any "equity" program that a governing body enacts.  It already sucks....lets not go down the road of making it more sucky.
