Central Section Football / Farewell central valley
February 10, 2018, 10:35:25 AM
I accepted a transfer for work and last week my family and I moved to the Salt Lake City area. Bakersfield was home for all 31 years of my life and central valley football played a huge role in that. From peewee at 9 years old through playing at liberty and then coaching at liberty for 6 years. I'll truly cherish all the memories of playing and coaching and watching high school football in the valley. We'll see how these Utah boys compare come fall. I'm also excited to check out some pac 12 football at the university of Utah. I'll be following the season through here so y'all better keep the updates coming. Have a great off season, passing league, and season y'all.

Pats up!

I know concussions and cte has been in the media for years. And if you have a child playing, both you and them know the risk, as did I when I played. This, though, is a must read. From 24 year old Zac Easter.

College and Pros / rams
December 13, 2016, 01:44:13 PM
alright all you rams fans...who do you want for your next coach? i think they need to make a splash.

harbaugh seems to be all anyone is talking about. i don't see him leaving michigan, but it would be funny to see him come back to the nfc west and destroy the 49ers twice a year. would be a great coach for goff.

mcdaniels is another guy who seems like a great fit and one to develop goff. he is also the only coordinator imo who should be considered.

gruden is brought up every year when there is an opening. if it's going to happen this seems to be the team for him. gruden would be great for goff, gurley would love him, especially if he bolsters that offensive line, and the rams have a good defense (contrary to the 42 points surrendered sunday). but i think he'd want the power and control. and if he doesn't want goff, would that keep him from taking the job, given what they gave up to get him.

my wild card is saban (65)...i know i know, not gonna happen...but, he's going to win another national title...what else is there to do in college? ask any coach, they want the most success on the highest level, and he surely didn't get it in miami. i love the idea of saban's rams and carroll's seahawks facing off twice a year. i would give him a blank check and say name your price.

pete carroll...i have no idea how they would get him, but there is a looong article from yahoo sports out there about there being high interest from the rams to get him from seattle. he's signed through 2019. i think it's a dream catch for the rams brass, but not gonna happen.

some other names i heard today...steve mariucci (61), mike holgrem (68), mike shanahan (64), and kyle shanahan.

in the end, i think josh mcdaniels gets the job.

Off Topic / jfk...where were you
November 21, 2016, 09:15:36 PM
with tomorrow being the 53rd anniversary of the jfk assassination, just curious where some of you were, reactions, etc. for those of you who are old enough to remember of course. saw a good post on facebook from a family friend and he talked about every generation having that "watershed moment." mine is 9/11. my parent's was jfk, grandparents pearl harbor.

and for kicks and giggles from the rest of you...was lee harvey oswald the lone gunman? was he even involved? was there a shooter(s) on the grassy knoll? was it cia? mob? lbj?

Central Section Football / D1 Semis
November 19, 2016, 01:05:16 AM
Might as well start it now. Battle of rematches for both games.

Liberty vs. BHS (early word is the game will be at BC)

I hate to say it, but BHS goes to valley. The first meeting Liberty kept it close for a half. BHS completley pulled away with a 21 point 3rd quarter (with 6 turnovers for the game I think it was!) I think Liberty will need to play their best football and the have the Drillers lay a turd to have a chance, IMO. I hope I'm wrong, but I got the Drillers by 17.

(sorry flex, lol)

Clovis West vs. Central

Clovis West looking for revenge after a 49-28 loss a few weeks ago. We all know how hard it is to beat a team twice in a year (although the Golden Eagles just did it against Clovis). If CW can control the time of possession and limit big plays, they win in a 28-24 type of game, which I think will be the case. And all will be right in the world again with CW and the mighty Drillers vying for the valley title. Hell, maybe even anthill comes out of hiding. ;)

a punch to the gut to edison. IMO, #1 until their play dictates otherwise.

http://www.bakersfield.com/sports/2015/08/24/bvarsity-s-preseason-hs-football-rankings.html

"Another season is upon us, and there's a new favorite in town — and in the Central Section. That would be Liberty, which returns 13 starters from a 10-3 team that entered the fourth quarter of last year's Division I section championship tied with Fresno-Edison before losing by a touchdown. Right behind the Patriots is Clovis, which has a whopping 17 starters back from a team that had Edison down 14-0 in the fourth quarter of a section semifinal; perennially powerful Bakersfield; and those defending champion Edison Tigers. The top team in Division II, Ridgeview, rounds out the preseason top five. Let the games begin."

1. Liberty (2014 record: 10-3, lost in Division I final)

2. Clovis (2014 record: 8-5, lost in Division I semifinals)

3. Bakersfield (2014 record: 9-3, lost in Division I semifinals)

4. Fresno-Edison (2014 record: 12-2, won Division I championship)

5. Ridgeview (2014 record: 12-2, won Division II championship)

6. Hanford (2014 record: 12-1, won Division III championship)

7. Fresno-Bullard (6-5, lost in Division I first round)

8. Tulare Union (7-5, lost in Division II quarterfinals)

9. Dinuba (11-2, lost in Division II final)

10. Clovis West (6-6, lost in Division I quarterfinals)

11. Clovis-Buchanan (3-9, lost in Division I quarterfinals)

12. Centennial (6-6, lost in Division I quarterfinals)

13. Sanger (8-4, lost in Division II semifinals)

14. Lemoore (11-1, lost in Division II semifinals)

15. Clovis North (7-4, lost in Division I quarterfinals)

16. Fresno-Central (5-6, lost in Division I first round)

17. Stockdale (4-6, Division I, no playoffs)

18. Fresno-San Joaquin Memorial (8-4, lost in Division II quarterfinals (D-III this year))

saw this and had to share. my feelings exactly. (photo that is mentioned is a picture of kate on the left and ceicl on the right)

**Warning** Be mad at me if you want for what I am about to write, but I do not fit into the mold of political correctness, and never will.

Cecil the Lion from Zimbabwe was killed unjustly by a foreigner who shouldn't of been there. Cecil was suppose to be protected by Zimbabwe's National Park Patrol. Killer receives death threats from people all over the US. People who stand up for Cecil are called loving.

Kate the Human from the US was killed unjustly by a foreigner who shouldn't of been there. Kate was supposed to be protected by US border patrol. No death threats around the US. People who stand up for Kate are called racist bigots.

Right now there are US citizens looking at this photo looking back and forth at the pictures from left, to right. Right now someone's eyes are tearing like Jimmy Kimmel's did. As their eyes fill up with water, it is because they can't help but focusing at the picture to the right, and feel no emotion to the left picture. This is the reality of our current situation. This is what we are up against....
