That is correct.  they put a team together with the frosh/soph class.  Probably going to be a rough rebuilding process

they had a lot of character issues on last years roster.  If my numbers are correct about 6 players transferred i believe.  Reality is there hasnt the oppurtunity for the new staff to build a "program" since they took over not much before covid.

Follow the money.
The TV revenue from my scenario would be off the charts.  It would be on par with march madness.  If the NCAA wasn't so corrupt they would distribute the money evenly throughout its members and everyone would benefit.

I would love to see the regular season shorten by a game or 2 and put more emphasis on league champions (seriously, if you aren't a league champ you don't deserve to be a nat'l champ!). Have all the league champions play a tourney in last week of nov till X-mas time.  Let the bowls be the consolation games and the nat'l title game pit the two remaining teams.  It's hilarious that they say FBS athletes can't afford to miss school &etc but FCS schools have had a tourney since the beginning of time

College and Pros / Re: Fresno St new Coach

He keeps ranting and raving about he is a spread offense guy (even though he has never been an offensive coach).  Does that mean all the TE are going to transfer and the local TE will be headed elsewhere.  Our area has put out a lot of TE that are now playing on Sundays (pascoe, spach, McCoy)...

You just proved my point...I said crazy stats considering all those factors.  They had a YOUNG QB with an offensive line that was patch work since the first couple drives of the season.  They put up over 400 yds per game and more then enough points per game to win a majority of their games but didn't have the defense or heck the special teams to back their play.  You think it would be wise for a new coach who is working on a short time period to overhaul the only thing that seemed to work for them last year?!  Carr will only get more consistant, o-line can't be dealt a worst set of cards, and rouse is poised for another monster season.  If he comes in and can't go 8-4 with identical offensive production, they hired the wrong guy.

:u: :u: :u: All that information right there is a huge plus too me. If he could get a half way decent offensive coordinator then things should improve all around. That's a big "IF".
Smart money says Grady will be back next year.  Offense put out crazy stats considering playing with a first year soph QB,  underclassman at skilled positions and a make shift line that was riddled with injuries from day 1....plus Grady gets paid minimum wage plus lunch money and staff parking spot

College and Pros / Re: WHO WILL GET THE AXE? FSU

This question can't be answered until we know all the details.  If they treat him like they did Pat Hill, he won't be able to afford to hire a coaching staff and will only be ableto keep on the staff of graduate assistants that Pat Hill has brought up.

If this is indeed the guy...he had better be capable to hit the ground running on the recruiting side??

The transitional void that has been created is rather ominous in my eyes??
He is the interim head coach for A & M's bowl game.  I am assuming he wouldn't start till after the game.  If he gets hired and receives more money than Pat Hill I will find a lot of humor in it...

I think his credentials look par for the course and pretty much what most of us were expecting...an unknown coordinator from a BCS conference school.

College and Pros / Re: Jimmy Mac to FSU
December 12, 2011, 05:14:02 PM
The problem with this is FSU is being publically exposed of all it's problems and limitations as a program.  I think this is really going to set the program back because potential recruits and their families now know of all the issues with FSU and now will see how other programs such as Colorado St. have more resources to be successful.  You don't think Jimmy Mac is going to be recruiting in the central valley or the rest of Calif????  I have come full circle now and believe they would of been better off keeping Hill and investing the extra money its going to take them to hire an unproven coach into the program and given him more tools to run a successful program...THIS SUCKS

He pulled his name out due to his concern about the athletic budget and its ability to maintain a successful program....go figure

You guys have to remember he is going to have all of the same challenges that P Hill faced.  He isn't a sexy name that all of a sudden recruits are going to flock to and ignore all the other issues at FSU that P Hill had to deal with.  We need to be realistic, he is a good hire for FSU but comparing him to Harbaugh and talking BCS Is outrageous.  Ask yourself why a seasoned O-cord with a national title to his resume has never been considered for a head coach position at a BCS conference school or hardly any mid-majors for that matter.    The best reason for FSU to hire him is he has a blueprint made by P Hill on how to run a good program at FSU which makes him more familiar with our obstacles and hopefully will help with the transition.

I think you might be jumping to too many conclusions on how great we will be with J Mac at the helm.  Exactly what has he done as o-cord that was so fresh and creative???  He runs a very pro oriented offense just like P Hill preferred and has benefitted from having the very best recruits while at bama.  Everyone tries to compare the bama stats to fsu stats which isn't fair either for a lot of reasons.  An argument against JMac can go back to the regular season game against LSU.  With a heisman finalist they managed 6pts at home.  Don't get me wrong I think JMac would be a great hire but don't expect him to take us to "the promise land" overnight.
