After last night's dinner, I was thinking this place would light up like a Christmas tree. I'm guessing Trump supporters are still in shock.

He is working on it, though he can't do that with the Congress....only we can.  Don't be surprised if starts reducing the fed workforce next year, that bureaucracy needs to be cut in half....he's already started by not filling position he doesn't think need to be....

I guess it's tough to drain the swamp when you have to keep hiring, firing, hiring, firing, all the "best people".......

Whatever, you are going to hate this guy no matter what, so it is what it is....he's handled two back to back hurricanes pretty damn well so far.  He's having to learn how to deal with that swamp, he seems to be picking it up fairly quickly and getting rid of those that he feels are the problem....but that's how you run a business as well, and he knows how to do that.

I just find it funny that the only people he seems to be getting rid of are the ones HE hired!

That's because you've never run a business with a bunch of employees....I've hired people thinking they were a good fit only to have to fire them several months later because they didn't pan out, that's part of running a business....just canned one after six months a couple of weeks ago....she looked good on paper, interviewed well, but at the end of the day was a bad hire....happens Diesel all the time

Not in shock here.  Trump is an operator.  He didn't make billions by holding to some fictional party line, or by keeping promises to friends.  Real estate development is not for nice guys or the faint of heart.  Pelosi and Schumer are going to figure out that Trump is probably 3 moves ahead of them, so they should probably think twice before running out and announcing that they have a deal.

But then again, Trump knew that is exactly what they would do.  That's why they are still politicians, and he is a billionaire.

You guys sure do put a lot of faith in his ability simply because he has a lot of money......it's not that hard to be rich when you're born into it.....and taught the tools of the trade.....and let's not forget how many times he's filed for bankruptcy.......because he failed......just sayin'......

How many? And was it corporate or personal?

Does it matter? He (or his businesses) failed more than once......but since you asked, I found this:

Trump's companies have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, which means a company can remain in business while wiping away many of its debts. The bankruptcy court ultimately approves a corporate budget and a plan to repay remaining debts; often shareholders lose much of their equity.

Trump's Taj Mahal opened in April 1990 in Atlantic City, but six months later, "defaulted on interest payments to bondholders as his finances went into a tailspin," The Washington Post's Robert O'Harrow found. In July 1991, Trump's Taj Mahal filed for bankruptcy. He could not keep up with debts on two other Atlantic City casinos, and those two properties declared bankruptcy in 1992. A fourth property, the Plaza Hotel in New York, declared bankruptcy in 1992 after amassing debt.

PolitiFact uncovered two more bankruptcies filed after 1992, totaling six. Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts filed for bankruptcy again in 2004, after accruing about $1.8 billion in debt. Trump Entertainment Resorts also declared bankruptcy in 2009, after being hit hard during the 2008 recession.

Why the discrepancy? Perhaps this will give us an idea: Trump told Washington Post reporters that he counted the first three bankruptcies as just one.
