Just a little confused w/how this Marlins Scout team works..... So theres 3 teams? 15-20 players on each team?  that means that this area has 45-60potential players that have MLB tools and projection or D1 potential??? Very bold considering this area hasn't had a good crop of HS kids drafted at the top of the draft since 2014 in Gatewood, Kemp, Ortiz, Tatum and Salazaar in 2013 so i am completely baffled as to who the prospects are? NO players were selected last year and only one the year before so i am having trouble understanding how this team WARRANTS the title SCOUT TEAM? MUCH LESSS 3 TEAMS!!!! There wasn't one local kid that made the AREA CODE TEAM? Who's getting drafted from this area this next year?? Is there any pitchers that can hold a 90mph velocity or just touch it??What other scout teams do they play? How about the Resume of the Staff, does anyone have any professional playing or experience?  WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS other than a Marlins Shirt and Hat?? This team is NOT a SCOUT BALL TEAM- this team is TRAVEL BALL w/ lipstick on it.

3 TEAMS?? CMON MAN!!!

This scout team offers opportunities for kids to be seen by local and statewide colleges. Cedarquist does an amazing job organizing this and providing coaches that track pitch count and understand how to get kids better. We cannot help what kind of talent we have in the valley, but the Marlins scout teams provide opportunities for all kids to be seen. There are no other scout teams in the valley, so what do you suggest be done?

It's a money grab and a play at parents wallets and heartstrings.

I suggest they tell the parents and kids the truth...the chances of their kids playing D1 or being drafted will not increase by playing for this Scout Team

Several boys in the area made Area Code so are only speaking of seniors?

Correct, no Upperclassmen players from the area were selected for the Area Code games. There were some local kids that got picked for the Underclassmen games.
