Clovis West & Buchanan both lose in the semis of the Boras Classic. They'll play tomorrow at 7 for third place.

AND... Max Browne made it clear that he is NOT transferring...   add to that mix Jalen Greene and Ricky Towne and SC is deep for several years to come.
Did Max Browne redshirt last season? So he will have 2 or 3 years to start once Kessler is gone.

Boras Classic Semi Finals
Buchanan vs Elk Grove
Clovis West vs St. Francis
Both games at 7 tonight. The championship is at 7 tomorrow night. The winner of that game will play Temecula Valley at UOP. The date & time of that game is to be announced.

No you play 4 games at the San Diego Lions tourney minimum. Bullard had a similar experience 2 years ago and then won the Valley. As much as I hate to say it, baseball in the San Diego area is better than the Valley. Stockdale's VC team in 2009 was the last team to have some success in that tourney.
I don't think that many valley teams have played in that tourney.

I would've been shocked if it had went any other way.
6  Central Section / Baseball / Re: The TRAC on: April 15, 2014, 05:28:31 PM
Buchanan has a 4-1 lead on Grant-Sacramento in the top of the 7th.
7  Central Section / Baseball / Re: Easter Classic games on: April 15, 2014, 05:26:23 PM
Franklin beats Edison 8-7 on an error on the 9th.
8  Central Section / Baseball / Re: The TRAC on: April 15, 2014, 05:25:06 PM
Clovis North loses their second game 10-1 to Valhalla down in San Diego. I believe the Broncos tourney is done.
9  Central Section / Baseball / Re: Easter Classic games on: April 15, 2014, 03:41:33 PM
Franklin leaves the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th. Extra innings at Euless.
10  Central Section / Baseball / Re: Easter Classic games on: April 15, 2014, 03:38:15 PM
Buchanan plays Grant at 4pm. If they win they'll play the Oak Ridge/Mitty winner at 7pm. The winner of that game plays Elk Grove tomorrow in the 2nd semi final. So there's a potential that Buchanan & CW could play in the Northern California championship. A CW win would really improve their state ranking. They've dropped a bit the last couple of weeks especially after being swept by Clovis North.

Clovis West beats Davis 5-3. They'll play St. Francis tomorrow in one semi. St. Francis is ranked 4th in the state, two spots behind Buchanan.
12  Central Section / Baseball / Re: Easter Classic games on: April 15, 2014, 03:25:56 PM
Frontier loses to Salinas 14-8 in a 10am game. Edison had a 7-2 lead after 4 over Franklin. Franklin scored 5 in the 5th to tie it up. It's in the 7th still tied 7-7.
13  Central Section / Baseball / Re: The TRAC on: April 15, 2014, 01:57:35 PM
Funk is playing. He went 2 for 3 with 4 RBI in their win over Foothill this morning.

Boras Classic

Salinas beats Frontier 14-8 at the Fresno Easter Classic
Clovis West beats Foothill-Palo Cedro 11-7 in their first game at the Boras Classic in Sacramento. Game 2 is underway against Davis. Davis beat Stockdale in their first game.
15  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Niners Might Want To Be Thinking Linebacker in the Draft on: April 14, 2014, 12:41:06 PM
It's amazing how closeted Niner fans were for pushing a decade and a half....two good seasons and now talking smack, especially amazing when the season before last the Niners didn't beat the Rams once....LOL

Can't say much about LAX being Rams territory since the Rams haven't called that place home in two decades... Huh?

Gotta love the Niner v Ram rivalry though  Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up  Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
Have a number of childhood friends that are Niner fans too, we are presently trying to get them vaccinated for that ailment....
Three good seasons thank you very much.

CW-   I was told by a CW parent that he will be DH''ing through the end of the season but will not be playing the field.   However you look at it, a tough break for a fine young man.     Good luck to Christian when he has his surgery.
I was told different but I hope you're right. They'll miss him on the mound late in games.

I'd rather play on the dirt at Griffith than on the asphalt that used to be their field. It was that old style astro turf.

Christian Funk is out for the season with a UCL tear.
19  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Enrollment #'s or Competitive Equity?? on: April 13, 2014, 11:41:11 AM
Private schools in the valley aren't like the private schools in the Bay Area or Southern California. There are also not enough of them to make their own league. I like the idea of separating the private school at the state level but not at the section level. Not in our section at least.
20  Central Section / Basketball / Re: Central on: April 12, 2014, 03:11:54 PM
It seems like athletes at Central can't handle tough coaches. They have more talent than most teams in football & basketball but they still can't win a D1 championship.
