1  Central Section / Basketball / Re: Immanuel Boys Basketball on: January 22, 2015, 07:02:20 PM
Do you think they would put Immanuel in the Open Division for the State Playoffs?
I'm not sure on the criteria for the open division buy my guess is no. If they were in Northern California then I think there's a good chance. Capital Christian from Sacramento was D5 in their section last year & they play in the Open Divison for the state playoffs. They lost to state runner up Bishop O'Dowd in the NorCal finals. But they're not at the sense level as the private schools they'd play on the state playoffs.
2  Central Section / Baseball / Re: 2015 Baseball Forcast on: January 22, 2015, 06:51:54 PM
It's kind of sad that Central & Clovis East are just after thoughts when talking about the TRAC. It makes me wonder how often they've finished 5th & 6th since Clovis North took the place of Madera. Madera had a coue pretty solid teams under Kevin Patrick.
3  Central Section / Basketball / Re: Immanuel Boys Basketball on: January 21, 2015, 11:36:05 PM
Immanuel is definitely #1. They'll win D4 easily & probably contend for the state chamoionship. It all depends on which schools get moved into the Open Division for state playoffs.
4  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: City college San Francisco coach Rush on: January 17, 2015, 09:17:13 AM
Is it coincidence that he retired right around the time they said the school has two more years to get their act together to keep their accreditation.
5  Central Section / Baseball / Re: 2015 Baseball Forcast on: January 17, 2015, 09:11:01 AM
They should have made the championship a best of three before they moved it to Visalia. Game 1 & 3 at the higher seeds field.
6  Central Section / Baseball / Re: Division Realignment on: January 17, 2015, 09:07:46 AM
With GW winning two DIII titles in a row, it isn't a surprise they moved.  Their record against DII teams hasn't been very good the last few years, so that'll be a challenge.  I don't understand why Tehachapi was moved up to DII.  Might a protest be in order?  I know Lemoore has already appealed their demotion.
It's good to see there's a program out there that doesn't think moving down is the only way to get better.
7  Central Section / Baseball / Re: Division Realignment on: January 15, 2015, 09:49:27 AM
Tulare Western, Madera & SJM usually get pounded by the Clovis schools during the Coke Classic to start the season. So now they're going to get the same treatment. I hate seeing league made up of teams from 3 divisions. Won't the CMAC have teams in D1, D2 & D3?
8  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Tyler Clutts on: January 14, 2015, 08:55:48 AM
I am fortunate enough to know Tyler. It's great to see him finding his niche in the NFL. Even if it's with the Cowboys. I don't think I respect any former CUSD football players more than I respect Clutts & Follett. Two great guys on the field & even better off.
9  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Congrats Ohio State on: January 14, 2015, 08:53:42 AM
I feel like for the first time ever the national championship was earned. TCU & Baylor might feel like the deserved a shot too. But I think Ohio State would have done the same thing against both of those offenses that they did to Oregon. They probably would have put up more points against those two defenses too. I am shocked that Urban Meyer wasn't named Coach of the Year. The vote must have been taken before the bowl games.

what about Florida State Seminoles ? No one over there is whining ? Or how about the Kansas City Chiefs ? Be proud they're even honoring the ancestry of the existence because it could be forgotten all about otherwise...JMO...
I'm pretty sure Florida State has been given permission from the tribe to use the name. They have still received some grief because of their live mascot. The Chiefs don't get any flack because their logo isn't "offensive". I don't agree that the Redskins should be forced to change their name. I'm just trying to put some logic behind the people who find think that everything is offensives thinking. Forcing high schools to change their names is way out of line. Many schools in California couldn't afford the changes that come with changing their school's mascot. The University of North Dakota isn't able to use their Fighting Sioux nickname because one sect of the Sioux Tribe found it offensive & the ncaa wouldn't let them compete in postseason play.
12  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: What a Joke! on: January 03, 2015, 01:32:37 PM
I still say that this system is bad like the BCS. They got it right by picking 4 conference winners but they left the better one out, TCU. TCU is better than FSU. The games were great and I'm happy we are getting an old school Pac12 vs Big10 Rose Bowl game.
It's not perfect but it's a step in the right direction compared to the BCS. If that was still in play then we'd be watching Florida State & Alabama play for a national championship on Monday night.

The SEC isn't as great as everyone thought.
14  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: good bye Dave Brandon.... hello Jim Harbaugh... on: January 01, 2015, 12:25:55 AM
If they hire Ryan, I'll offer you my 35 yard line seats with VIP parking and access to the private clubroom when they play the Rams.  Let me know.
I'd send you my address just in case it happens but Teddy advised me to not give you any personal information.
15  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: good bye Dave Brandon.... hello Jim Harbaugh... on: December 30, 2014, 06:19:14 PM
I like how they called it a "mutual" agreement for him to leave. I wish owners & general managers would let just their coaches coach. There was no reason for them to question him. They won 40 something games in the years before Harbaugh & about the same in his four season. Biggest mistake they've made. They interviewed Rex Ryan. York is a joke. He's all about the money & his buddy Baalke is luck to have his job. If they hire Ryan I won't go to games until he's gone.
16  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: kessler heading to nfl? on: December 28, 2014, 10:02:35 PM
lots of talent on that team but they aren't back to full scholarship player level till next season....takes time to develop new players and that's not going to happen by next year....couple years down the road maybe.  Cody made the smart choice, figured he would, but let's not get into crystal ball and heisman shots quite yet....they barely got past a very average Nebraska team last night, so lets be honest that they have a ways to go before any of those big accolades are going to come their way.
They has a lot of freshman & sophomores contributing this year. I don't think it's that far fetched. I believe their offensive line was starting multiple freshman too. They can only get better & they will. I'll cheer for USC as long as Kessler is there because he's a good guy. USC hasn't had too many of those lately.
17  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: New Coaching Openings on: December 27, 2014, 07:55:42 PM
AJ Gass for Garces? If so that guy was a BEAST at Fresno State. One of the most natural hitters I have ever seen. He played many tears in CFL. If its true, way to go AJ!!!
Yep that's him.
18  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: So ... Is CS moving to North? on: December 24, 2014, 05:37:53 AM
Got that post CW, that was basically a mock schedule of CIF section champions vs other CIF section  champions.
I was wanting a more detail report of the CIF new proposal.
It gave a description of the new format before the mock schedule. That's about all the info you're going to find. If you're looking for more good luck finding it because that's all there was.
19  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Am I really rooting for the raiders today? on: December 23, 2014, 11:22:16 AM
Derek Carr rookie QB of the year. Can you say Carr and Harbaugh? Now that could be scary good!
Agreed. It sounds like he's leaning toward Michigan. Which I find suprising. I'm sure the Raiders or any other team would be willing to match what the Wolverines are offering. Oakland would be an easy transition for his family. But maybe he just really enjoys college more than the NFL. Or he just wants to go back to his alma mater. We will see what happens next week.

East of Clovis is not bad.  Lots of nice neighborhoods in that Sunnyside area.  But if you plan on going west on Kings Canyon towards downtown, don't make eye contact with anyone....
I have friends who live in that area. I make sure I wear the don't wrong colors when I'm going over there. I have to do the same thing when I visit family in Oakland.
