1  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Garces win appeal on: Today at 01:53:19 PM
I agree but comaring us to the Southern Section is foolish. The majority of the top teams down there are private schools. Plus you actually have to win to make the playoffs. In my opinion we have too many divisions & if we were to only have 3 or 4 Garces & SJM would both be D1.
2  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Fresno St vs Spoiled Children on: Today at 12:16:17 PM
If you don't recruit them they won't stay.....that's what Pat did but there's been a lot of comments that the new staff isn't doing that like Pat did.....Carr could have gone elsewhere but stayed as did others from the Valley...
Again how many of these four or five star guys would actually go to Fresno State? Very few I'm guessing.
3  Central Section / Central Section Football / Garces win appeal on: Today at 12:14:23 PM
Zach Ewing is reporting that Garces has won their appeal to stay at D2. This is for football only.
4  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Fresno St vs Spoiled Children on: Yesterday at 02:54:51 PM
We'll never know for sure, but he had recruited the players to do it....CTD certainly benefited from Pat's recruiting but from what we saw the other night it doesn't look like CTD's recruiting has been as good, at least not yet.  Don't think anyone needs to be writing CTD off or anything but as some of the others have noted working the Valley talent instead of ignoring it might not be a bad idea.....As Teddy said, the talent does live here in the Valley but you have to go get it.
That's not at all what he said. He said there are some big time talented players here. Most of which will go elsewhere. There are few that will stay local.

How did the JV look against Merced?
6  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Fresno's Best on: Yesterday at 02:08:18 PM
Reed is better then every team you mentioned, except Edison, They are alot bigger upfront with a athletic QB..
You must have not watched Edison play on Thursday.
7  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: SCORES on: Yesterday at 02:05:17 PM
Does this happen to be the same player that's highly ranked & is being heavily recruited by USC? Is he playing wide receiver or safety at the next level?
8  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Fresno St vs Spoiled Children on: Yesterday at 02:00:49 PM
Sorry CW, but Pat deserves a faithful following....he earned it and did a lot for that program and the Valley.  His last couple of years were troubled record wise, but his recruiting was pretty darn good. DeRuyter wouldn't have won squat without it, let's be honest....I'm not a big Bulldog fan, but we have to give credit where it is certainly deserved.
I have no problem with that because he did amazing things for the university & football in the valley in his time here. But he's not here anymore. But would Pat Hill led teams have gone 20-6 the last two seasons & won two conference championships? I think not.
9  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: CW Thursday Night Showdown on: August 31, 2014, 08:24:28 PM
Is Ralph Wood and Vince Wesson still calling the game?
I hope not. Anything that kmph does involving local sports is awful.
10  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Fresno St vs Spoiled Children on: August 31, 2014, 08:21:18 PM
All the Pat Hill faithful were loving it last night. But should probably realize that Fresno State wouldn't have two MWC championships if he was still around. Anyone who thought they were going to win yesterday is delusional. I think they could win next week but they'll get pounded on by Nebraska. Maybe football players from the valley just don't want to stay here. Has anyone thought of that? Or maybe it's the bandwagon fan base that is Fresno State football. Too many people expect them to be USC, UCLA or Stanford. We are not. Support the team & coaches even if they're not from here. Support them if they're 0-3 after playing a tough non conference schedule.

Ask Coach Josh. He probably knows. They best Merced 60-0 on Thursday.
12  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: WEEK 0 on: August 29, 2014, 04:44:55 PM
Can we just start calling it week 1? Almost everyone plays this week & then has bye before league starts.
13  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Carr on: August 28, 2014, 10:11:23 PM
How many weeks does Schaub start? Carr was off the charts tonight. This coach will be 2nd guessing himself when the Raiders start 0-4.
I have a feeling Schaub will still be hurting going into next weekend & Carr will starry against the Jets. That's where the Schaub era ends in Oakland.
14  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Edison-Buchanan on: August 28, 2014, 10:07:55 PM
So is Edison overrated or is Buchanan underrated? Or were the Tigers thinking about next week? A little birdy told me that Buchanan's defensive backs would shut down most teams in the sections receivers. I didn't believe it. But he was right tonight.
15  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Yeah, Dad is Proud... It is official as of this morning!! on: August 26, 2014, 09:32:07 PM
Congrats Soaring & Trevor! I'm looking forward to watching him play this week.
16  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Arthur Ashe Award on: August 26, 2014, 09:30:57 PM
I want there to be a penalty called on Michael Sam & then the ref to say that he was "giving him the business". Does anyone else remember that call? I'll have to find the video.
17  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: USC-Josh Shaw on: August 26, 2014, 09:28:31 PM
When I first heard the report that he might be lying I knew a certain UCLA fan would jump all over this. But as a Notre Dame fan this makes me feel a whole lot better about Manti Te'o.
18  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Tulare BHS Scrimmage on: August 26, 2014, 09:25:06 PM
In 2005, Hartigan ran the same play an entire scrimmage at FSU camp.  A few weeks later, they beat DLS.  You never know.
Yep. We were so confused by that. But now I understand why he did that.
19  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Top 20 most dominant Central Section football teams on: August 26, 2014, 09:23:02 PM
Where is Liberty-Madera Ranchos at on this list?  I know they are a young program but in the last 6 years or so they have been to 4 or 5 valley championships winning the last 2 appearances in 2012 and 2013 and a Semi-Final loss a few years back.  And with the program getting better and more dominate they should be at least number 20. Don't you think??
Read the previous comments. They made an error & put Liberty-Bakersfield when they obviously meant Madera Ranchos.
20  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Clovis West Scrimmage on: August 26, 2014, 09:21:18 PM
They'll have their work cut out for them on Friday. Merced is a tough team. Merced also has the pleasure of playing against Edison & Clovis North.
