No Bozeman. I would like Theus or Tinkle

I thought the same thing with Bozeman, but he had some serious supporters (former G-town Coach John Thompson to name 1). I know its unfair but whenever I think of Bozeman I can't get past what he did at Cal.

I would like to see if FSU would contact Coach Williams from UCSB...he has built a nice program, been to the tournament the last 2 yrs, and recruits talent above the conference he is in. Could be interesting...

ET...very valid point and it needs to be brought to the commitee's attention that Tinkle is just not going to work just based on the name alone!

chicanofootball

It would be hard for Williams to leave the wonderful beach views for our growing crops view.

Dunlap has said he will consider the Fresno State job.....rumors are that he will be interviewed. That would be a great hire, imo the best choice I just wasnt sure he would be interested.......

he had made it quite known to a few coaches out here in California that he thinks this is a good job. I agree with you, I would be excited about that one, especially with the turn around he is helping with at St. John's with Lavin and Keady. My only worry with Dunlap is that with his travel record from school to school...this job would just be a step for him to the next big one...does that factor in or do you say to hell with it we will take the chance?

Butler playing in the title game two years in a row, VCU in the final four. Kentucky lost every player from last year.
Fresno has a chance to be a competitive, fast.

Ken there is no reason or no excuse that Fresno cant compete at the least in their own division, the Wac is the Wac.
You do not need 12 players to win the WAC. my example was that Mid Majors are competing at the highlest level, and Fresno is not even competing in their own conference.

Why are you on this board? You act like Fresno and the Valley is the armpit of the earth and nothing good has ever come from here. Are you even from the Valley?

Both the football team and the baseball team have had relative success...why not basketball?

True. I would say the football team is successful at being mediocre. The baseball team is successful and has continued the success of the 2008 season past that season.

Ken, you have to admit, Fresno State winning about 13 games a year is not exceptable,
and that Fresno State should always expect to win close to twenty games a year, and compete for the Wac title.
This is the WAC conference  Hawaii, Boise, Idaho, La Tech, Nev, New Mex. St. and Utah St.
come on Ken does that conference scare you, FSU plays these schools twice a year. The WAC might be the weakest conference in D1
Yes, Fresno can win fast. Now winning nationally, I wont argue with you.

i didnt speak about football but i think the football team is overrated and ran its course....and i dont have a clue about baseball....now fresno playing in the wac and being plain wack is the story..they have no comp and still cannot win...fresno needs to scour every kid that transfers and get them.

We only think that because of the expectations Pat Hill has built. The amount of wins they rakced up over the past decade is pretty impressive, thats why Pat Hill is so popular except in Fresno

What Pat Hill has done for Fresno St. is win, Could an extra big win here and there help, yes.
basketball has not won, and there is no excuse to lose for so long. Read my previous post about the weak WAC Conference.
the basketball program has the best opportunity to be sucessful because the conference is bad.

Why not be that school? It has worked for many schools.  The fact is if we get a coach that comes in here and turns it around he will be gone in a few years anyway.  We won't find a Pat Hill for bball that sticks around for 15 years, or Batesole who I see sticking around for a while.  Let's be that school.

and I agree with you lollygagger. I'm ok with it. Especially with our lack of success the last few years. See if we can make that jump to the next level and ride it out!

Fresno St. basketball the last four years as been horrible, and the administration should do everything possible to get the program back to competitve basketball, Fans are screaming for it. The city of Fresno will support FSU basketball, but does FSU expect to just have a team that doesnt compete and the people are going to show up to the games anyway, have the people of Fresno, spoiled FSU.

not looking good for FSU hoops
Why? Between the OSU and the UT guys I think either hire would be solid.....the UT guy would be the one I would want. But the OSU guy is seemingly what fans in the central valley have been screaming for....young, exciting, and a GREAT recruiter
