I agree.....this is why you don't declare victory at the start of the season.  CW is definitely a good team...but today they saw a real pitcher and a team that made plays behind him...

I don't remember anyone declaring the section champs. Anyone can get beat at anytime. Especially when you have games between rivals like this. I don't think anyone can understand the rivalry between these two schools unless you went to one of them & played in the games against each other.

CW is scary good 1-9 in that lineup...that is unless you have a pitcher with a 70 mph fastball backed up by off speed in the low 60's.  That would make even Buchanan look "soft" sixty-nine!  Buchanan had their day for sure but how about giving credit where credit is due.  Seen them both and I would take CW in a three game series dude.

The Central Section needs to go to a best of three championship like the Sac-Joaquin does.

They even go a step further, I believe, and have a 2 out of 3 semi-final series between north and south winners.
I played in the Sac-Joaquin baseball playoffs nearly 40 years ago and even then the format was a 16 team, double elimination tournament to decide the champion. And it was large schools + medium schools in the same tourney..
The CS certainly needs to get a format more closely related to the 21st century.

I still think Buchanan should be number 1 until they are knocked off by a valley team. Isnt that what Valley rankings are?? Question for you sir.... Does Campolindo and Buena participate in valley playoffs?

March 23rd at Buchanan. CW has actually played better at Buchanan over the last few years than at home.

I agree with that, weird that its like that. And with Fergie pitching, i think CW wins that game.

And you have a bias...I don't.  I have seen them both and Buchanan got the better of CW that day but things have changed since then.

Buchanan needs to be ranked number 1 till they get knocked off my a valley team. I have them going 1-2 their next 3 games, so until they lose those, im not sure how they cant be #1

You think they're going to lose 2 of their next three which are against Central, Clovis East & Clovis West. But you still think they should be #1??? I really don't get it.

Right now they need to be #1. Yes i think theyll lose those game, but they havent happened yet. Until the games are played, and they do in fact lose, theres no reason for them to drop

When college football polls rank teams, and see their schedule, they dont drop them down cause they see a potential loss the next week.  They vote em right where they think, then re evaluate the next week. Pretty Simple

And i hate to do this......... Buuuuuuuut.........

Bullard already beat Buchanan this year so there goes your theory.

Sixty9: Bullard beat Buchanan already (know your in-section opponents) and CW beat Bullard by 2 touch downs, so that's why CW is #1.  I'll take CW to beat Buchanan 2 out of 3 this year, no problem.  Anyway, Buchanan isn't even ranked #2, they are #3.

I think I'd still put Buchanan ahead of Bullard. They split their two meetings.
