I agree.....this is why you don't declare victory at the start of the season.  CW is definitely a good team...but today they saw a real pitcher and a team that made plays behind him...

I don't remember anyone declaring the section champs. Anyone can get beat at anytime. Especially when you have games between rivals like this. I don't think anyone can understand the rivalry between these two schools unless you went to one of them & played in the games against each other.

CW is scary good 1-9 in that lineup...that is unless you have a pitcher with a 70 mph fastball backed up by off speed in the low 60's.  That would make even Buchanan look "soft" sixty-nine!  Buchanan had their day for sure but how about giving credit where credit is due.  Seen them both and I would take CW in a three game series dude.

They even go a step further, I believe, and have a 2 out of 3 semi-final series between north and south winners.
I played in the Sac-Joaquin baseball playoffs nearly 40 years ago and even then the format was a 16 team, double elimination tournament to decide the champion. And it was large schools + medium schools in the same tourney..
The CS certainly needs to get a format more closely related to the 21st century.

Right now they need to be #1. Yes i think theyll lose those game, but they havent happened yet. Until the games are played, and they do in fact lose, theres no reason for them to drop

When college football polls rank teams, and see their schedule, they dont drop them down cause they see a potential loss the next week.  They vote em right where they think, then re evaluate the next week. Pretty Simple
