Im not a big Backo fan but it is nice to see out of state competition on a Central Section teams schedule. I think it speaks volumes at the end of the year when the strength of schedule and everything else is being taken into account.

i know it will be a great experience for the kids.... but I'm not sure this will help their SOS..

How do D IiI schools in Arizona compare SOS wise to D I schools in Cal?  Are they equivalent?

"The BHS"  non league schedule included Foothill and Golden Valley last year, and still was a contender for the state bowl game.
It seems that BHS has made every attempt to improve their non league schedule for next season.
If you're suggesting that beating a D3 Arizona school would hurt their chances to play in the State Bowl game, I doubt it.
Since L.B. Poly is on their schedule, BHS could play a big factor in the Southern Section power rankings.
Example,  Poly has only one loss to BHS, and the Poly wins the PAC 5 title. That could work in BHS favor.

That seems to have been the case for Bakersfield, Clovis West and Clovis East before. It seems like no matter what they'll get passed up. Of course there is the additional game next season and that should help. If it had been around before Bakersfield would have probably played in it last year. Then maybe Clovis East would have played Canyon Country in 2006.

....and Tulare "might" have gotten a play-in game in 2008.
