So after 1 week of play, who is Fresno's best teams this year? Who will challenge for a Valley? Give me 2 teams in each division. Edison didn't really impress. Central lost. Clovis North won a close one. CW?

Who's going to take down BHS in D1, Ridgeview in D2, & BCHS in D3?

Bronco

 After week ZERO - it's ALL still wide open   8) !! Guess we'll just have to wait & see .  :D I'm sure glad it's started though !!!  :u:

CIF Predictions after week 0

Div 1...BHS
Div 2...Dinuba
Div 3...BC
Div 4...CVC or Roosevelt
Div 5...?

There is no doubt BHS is the king until someone knocks them off.  As for the teams in the Clovis/Fresno region yes Central lost, yes Edison was not impressive, Clovis North beat a higher ranked school on the road all be it a neutral site with there best player at less than 100%.  CW beat Merced but at home and still gave up almost 40 points.

There is a lot of time left but as of this moment I say Bakersfield one Clovis North two than fill in after that.  Edison is going to be a very good team and CW has some talent but the defense the last couple years has been terrible and after game 1 not much has changed.

Obiwon I like CVC in D4 as well. D5 I have no clue. But Shafter should contend for that division. Liberty Bako is a team I'd think would contend for D1 as well. After seeing what Ridgeview did to Frontier as loaded and as battle tested as they'll be after that non league SWYL schedule, I'd have a hard time believing they aren't better then Dinuba. What about Kingsburg? Also Clovis got shellacked by Paso Robles, smaller school.

CN vs Reed wasn't as close as the score indicates. A false start, taking us out of a scoring opportunity, and a snap over our punters head gave opportunities to Reed that should not have happened, but they did happen. Our free safety also went out of the game with leg cramps, leaving the position to an individual who has not played a snap on defense AT ALL. Shame on CN I guess. Unprepared it seems. Twice a Reed receiver was left uncovered resulting in TD's that baffled the most common observer. The Broncos have some tuning to do, and I bet they were happy to come out with a win.

So yes, it was close, but should not have been. Clovis North has some cleaning  up to do, but performed fairly well. It was hotter than blazes on the Del Oro turf, leaving players feeling like their feet were on fire! Great game non the less, but not what the score indicates. Bolu began to look like himself in the second half after a slow start. He had sprained a knee a little over a week ago, and had not practiced much leading up this contest. He should be good to go moving forward.

Also a questionable call on a Bronco TD catch... ref says the ball bounced off the turf... or was it off the players knee... only God knows for sure... but he doesn't wear black and white stripes so... 0 still equals 0.   :D

Next week vs Folsom is scary... That team is legit. Glad it isn't being played during the daylight, on "hot coals with bare feet".  :u:

Why do they use costly new sterile needles to give a lethal injection? Really. Just save the same friggin' needle.

I believe the score was 19-3 mid-way threw the 4 Quarter..
A bad snap and a 3 flags we gave them a TD. Its was a great set up out there..Pretty Cool Deal..

No one. If the Drillers can make it past Edison, Crenshaw, Salesian and Ridgeview without major injuries they will blowout the SWYL and go into week 10 playing for the #1 seed.

Edison, as GHF wasn't impressive against Buchanan
Crenshaw was blown out by LB Poly 54-14 (7 of the 14 came in the 4th qt.)
Salesian beat Muir 27-3
Ridgeview beat Frontier 42-21

If Golla can keep them focused and there is not a repeat of the 2012 disaster they should be playing for another VC. They are bigger and faster than they have been. If the QB can get a firm grasp on the offensive scheme they will be hard to beat.

I would hate to say this but I count Roosevelt out with their performance Friday against Chavez High School. I'm not a Quinn fan however I know Fairman and McCoy would of had the ball in their hands way more then that. When I checked the paper is said they had maybe 70 total offense yards.  Wow. I agree with almost all those picks except Roosevelt.  I am very disappointed I was hoping they came in and smacked around Chavez

Well, I would think Fairman and McCoy wish Quinn and crew were still at Roosevelt. The outcome may have been different. I was shock when I saw Chavez put up 340 yards rushing on a defensive minded HC and with all those transfers. Lack of offense and allowing teams to run on you will result in a long year for the rough riders.

Somewhat agree but at the same time... They can Excel with Quinn and his negative ways. Hopefully Roosevelt bounce back... I'm routing for them and the new coach

CN also was starting 5 Sophomores and some more got playing time!! Love how a lot of the guys go 1 way but I'lltell you my uunbiased honest opinion...

The bad: By the 3rd quarter all our boys looked A LOT more tired then the other team did as hands were on their hips and you could tell they lost a step. The pirates back up QB started moving the ball on us rrunning around and throwing short passes and by the 4th QT some of our guys were literally standing around!!! Linemen missing blocks, D-line getting no push, and missed assignments but that all comes with being in shape so you have no mental errors.. On one drive we literally gave them 40 yds in penalties!

The good: Aside from being filled with some stud returners I saw A LOT of new faces making plays for the Broncos! The Haupt brothers looked great but they along with Hatcher need to be utilized to bring more pressure on defenses! Our D line at 1 point literally had 3 sophs on the field during our goaline stand which I was impressed with! Cole Peterson is thee most underrated DB in the valley, kid is a stud!!! Austin Autry passing to that tall Receiver by last name Black is going to be very scary! Bolo Gonnarunfromme  :)- and Jason Lee will the best 1 &,2 combo in the Valley! Naruwa Obbaner just flat out a stud!

Final verdict: The CN staff is filled with a lot of great coaches both young and old and they will put the right kids in the right places to win fandom but it's up to the kids on how good they want to be! I will say that our pass rush needs to get a lot better and defense needs to be in better shape if they want to hang with CW high tempo offense! But it the Broncos first action against any team this year as they did not scrimmage anyone so I'm sure ,as any coach would be, they are happy to get away with the W after playing that sloppy of a game!

I believe Reed had alittle over 130 yards rushing and less then a 100 yards passing with a INT. And 3 goalline stops,
It was 110° on that turff... CN needs to sharpen up on a few things, but they can be REALLY good..When they get there two line men back, (OL/DL)

Reed is a C+ team... With all the talent and coaching has I expect more hence the fact I said the W was not pretty still deserved! They just can't play like that if they run into a team like Edison or Merced or Buchanan Or CW or Central Or Clovis High or Buhach Colony.... See where I'm.getting at? CN CAN be VERY good and I.honestly think they can compete for a VC this year but good thing there's still plenty of football left to be played  ;)
Reed is better then every team you mentioned, except Edison, They are alot bigger upfront with a athletic QB..

I did.. Them along with CN have a few things to sharpen up on. I think Edison will get better as time goes,(i hope) but they have so many athletes. Reed is over now on to Folsom!!
