Good Point, but why would that game be even brought up?

Because if Chavez can't get by a down BCHS my friend then they are a pretender...  hence the title of the thread.

That game will be big for them...

Just read an article that Chavez has been playing without there starting QB, LB, DL, and DB in last few weeks. Sounds like both teams are beat up. Then I saw Chavez playing up during pre season except for Roosevelt. This might be a closure game that people might think.

There was nothing small about that 2002 Edison team.  Once Clifton Smith got healthy in the second half of the season it was all over.  If they had been D1 I am convinced that they would have won that division title too.  They destroyed every team they played in the playoffs...it was like watching Patton take apart the Wehrmacht in WWII.  Clifton Smith (Fresno State and Pro-Bowl), WR Brandon Breazell (UCLA and holds one NCAA record), DE Lawrence Ball (full ride to Arizona), Safety Bernard Hicks (full ride to Cal), DB Lorenzo Sims (full ride to Colorado) along with others who played at the D2 level and sophs like Robert Peele (full ride at Cal).  That was a fun team to watch.
Edison is about 6 big plays away from being 1-4..Other then BHS and CN, they have had a easy preseason.BHS and CN has played better Teams.. But Edison did find a way beat both teams.

The Pagmeter website shows Division 1-5 in 1998 but I don't think that is right...

2003 1-5

2008 1-6

I can't remember how long there was Yosemite "Small" and "Big" but it was a weird system.  The top 16 teams made the play-offs and then they were divided by CBEDS top 8 and bottom 8.  I think it only went on for a few years.

2003 Sanger Championship is listed on calpreps.com as Yosemite "Small"

2004 was the first year for Divisions 1-5

CWClassof2007

My freshman year was 2003 & that's the year an undefeated CW team lost to Clovis East for their first D1 title. I'm pretty sure that was the first year of D1-D5.

Nope, double checked it, Sanger's valley title from 2003 is listed officially as Yosemite "Small" so that title would have been the "Big".  But it's all silly because in essence that is D1 and D2.
