Frontier v Bakersfield: at home the Drillers are tough especially the D and this year Frontier has been a cluster.  Game gets ugly early and could be a running clock for the entire fourth quarter.  Multiple Defense and Special Team TD's.
Drillers 56-10.

Centennial v Garces: Centennial will win this easily. Garces has played against the toughest opponents they will face all year.  It doesn't help though.  I do want to give young Barnett major props against the Drillers.  He stood tall and took a ton of shots.  Keep it up son.  Your team will be getting better next year.
Centennial 31-10

Liberty @ Stockdale: Liberty has a good running game but Stockdale has improved.  I think a close one is in order.
Liberty 28-24

Bakersfield
Centennial
Liberty

quickness

Bakersfield in a lopsided victory.
Centennial in a boring game.
Liberty will pull away in the second half.

BHS will handle Frontier, everyone gets up for the Drillers but that will wear off after a quarter.
BHS 49-7

Centennial coming off a loss and has some guys banged up but they can handle a JV team
Centennial 35-0

I'm going opposite of everyone so far, I'm taking Stockdale in a BIG upset. I'm not sold on Liberty, they have a tendency to look good against good teams and let up on teams that they should throttle. Sheldon has the Mustangs playing hard and believing that they can win.
Stockdale 17-14

Your brutal honesty is why I hate you teddy, ;) I could give you a million reason why Liberty will win this game, but Liberty does have those tendencies.
I do know that some of those tendencies with Liberty has somewhat settle down since the new coach has arrived.
With that said, Liberty wins. Signed by true Patriot :)
BHS, And Cent. Also will win Friday.

I think the Liberty Stockdale game will be the best of the 3, if Liberty runs the ball well, doesn't turn the ball over and doesn't look past a team that they are better than they win easy. But I still like the upset, there is always one and this one makes the most sense.

The reason why an upset doesn't make sense to me, besides being a patriot fan, Liberty has been pretty good in SWYL games of late, the Patriots have won seven of eight SWYL games, and surprisingly Liberty has won a few close SWYL games.
Now, except for the final league game, Liberty will be favored, any loss before that, is a playoff ranking killer. IMO.

I'm in the same boat as Teddy, the Liberty/Stockdale game is the most intriguing and the only one that has the slightest possibility of being a competitive game.

Liberty, as we all know, can really blow sometimes.

Stockdale, as we all know, really blows this year.

However, Liberty does do well in the SWYL (outside of playing the Drillers, of course).

And Stockdale's defense is much, much better than their offense. (Lets be honest here, Stockdale's offense is terrible.)

This is all to say that even though Liberty is probably favored in this one, I think Stockdale rides the momentum wagon longer than the Pates and Stockdale's defense wins them the game.
Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all time thing. You don't win once in a while, you don't do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.

You guys act like Drillers havent lost a league game. By the way you constantly say "(outside of the Drillers" or "except for the Drillers" or "except for the last game". I completely agree BHS should be favored in every league game & win a very very high percentage of the time, but you dont have to look to far back to see they were beat on their home field by Liberty. The "big 6" were in their 2nd year on Varsity & were deemed untouchable that year. It took 1 more year (last season) to reach that pinnacle. So I wouldnt conceade the league title just yet. Crazier things have happened.
Time will tell

The GHawks haven't put up 42 points on the board in the last 3 games combined.

TeddyKGB

teirwalker anytime someone points out the exception to the rule they have lost the argument. No one believes that the league title should be conceaded, you're right crazy things happen all the time, Liberty lost to Centennial the same year that LHS beat the Drillers at Griffith, Liberty beat Centennial the same year that they beat the Drillers in the regualr season (Kessler's sr. yr). I don't recall anyone deemed anyone "untouchable"; where they heavy favorites yes of course but thats 2 seasons ago and no one cares.

tierwalker

Point taken & no arguement here.
But as far as 2 years ago?? And nobody cares?
Oh, people care..... The past is brought up ALL the time on this board on ALL subjects.
Just keepin it real

GHawks by 35 and stuff everything the Rams O try. I think we ended up punting after first and goal from the 1 yard line.
Must admit while watching the game I caught myself cheering for Hunter Giulietti. Great player, Great young man.
We miss that speed and ability to break of big runs that he and Croney gave us last season.
Wish they could have stayed but understand those decisions. Did the right thing no question.

What's crazy is it was only 14-6 with 10 minutes left. Ends up 41-6. Rams look like they were playing in slow-mo for the last 10 minutes. I've never seen a Rams team implode like that. This team is small, slow, and weak. This was the second week in a row that Rams had first and goal at the 1 and come away with nothing. Started out 1st and goal at the one and ended up 4th and goal at the 35 due to play calling. Haven't seen anything yet to indicate Rams belong in the SWYL, heck this team wouldn't win half their games in the SSL. The beatings will continue the last 3 games. This season can't get over fast enough. As for Croney and Giuletti leaving, it absolutely was the right thing to do, who wants to play in this anemic offense.

GOALPOST you are at the games like I am, besides being slow and lacking speed to break big runs, what's the problem with this team in your opinion?
Have a take, and make sure it doesn't suck!

Big props to Frontier.  They played very well. :u:

The Drillers have to look in the mirror.   The Defense saved their bacon. :u:

Congrats to Golla for his 100th win as the BHS Head Coach. :u:

It starts with TA's coaching personality. He coaches by fear, intimidation and negative reinforcement. He needs to get the players to want to play for him like Maples did. He can do this by being more approachable to the players and coaching by way of positive reinforcement and compliments when earned. TA blows up too often which unnecessarily intimidates the players. He needs to improve his communication with all of his coaches in all three programs. He has to learn that he can't do it all by himself.
TA also ended the weightlifting progam in mid July. The weightlifting program needed to continue throughout the season which is inexcusable.

TeddyKGB

sideline sounds like a pro-Maples parent lashing out. Lets take a closer look at this: "He coaches by fear, intimidation and negative reinforcement" translation: h doesn't baby they kids and sugar coat when they screw up. Sounds to me that he's holding players accountable regardless if the team is young.
"He needs to get players to want to play for him like Maples did. " translation: he needs to let the players run a muck and baby them.
These two statements may be, collectively the two best examples of what is wrong with parents today!

"TA blows up too often which unnecessarily intimidates the players", maybe your kid should be such a softy and get is little feelings hurt so easily!

Illegal Formation

Teddy. I think Sideline was trying to say that TA isn't doing what he needs to do to motivate his players. They have not been playing with any inspiration as evidenced by their 4th quarter implosion. Would lifting weights all season have helped? Perhaps. What did your coach do to inspire you to become the best water boy in the league?

TeddyKGB

I have to disagree Illegal, but I dont believe that's what he is getting at all. "He coaches by fear, intimidation and negative reinforcement" & "He needs to get players to want to play for him like Maples did" neither of those statements sound like he isn't motivating his players. I don't care how great a motivator a person is you can't over come being as out manned as the garces team is this year. Did you ever consider that the 4th quarter implosions are happening because they are playing as good as they can and the lack of depth and talent catches up to then in the 4th qt? I don't know, nor am saying thats whats happening because I havent watched a garces game. The better team with better athletes is going to win and it sound to me like that is whats happened to garces. fans of garces have made comments on here of how the kids playing on the varsity team are good character kids with ability, they're just young.

Statements like this "What did your coach do to inspire you to become the best water boy in the league" would have never been possible if prop 8 had not been over turned, now you guys have unlimited confidence. And to answer your question, my coach would told me that it's always better to be a water boy on the football team than the best flag twirling "boy" in the band. Thats all the pep talk I needed.
