The CIF state passed the proposal, basically meaning there will be 13 state bowl games. Every school who wins a CIF sectional championship, will get a chance to play for a state bowl championship game.
Our section, the Central Section, will be split, the CS will become a north/south section.
What your thoughts CVHSPREPS?

If they were just bowl games, there would have to be more than 13.  It's a play-off right?

Which begs another question: is the Central Section going to move to 8 team brackets?

It looks like, the CIF has divided up the states section champions into 11 divisions, and two open champions.

So it's gotta be a playoff.  There are more than 26 section champs in the state.

After reading Boogard's article in the Bee, it sounds like the Open teams advance straight to a title bowl game and the other divisions have a playoff.

We've had the conversation on here before.  If you look at the state of Texas and the amount of state champs they have, we are just now aligned with them.  Their state champs also play between 15 and 16 total games when they are done.  Our state champs will play 14-15.

They passed the proposal but very far from being final approved. The consideration is still to many games to plau for young kids.
Sit down and learn from the Master.

It has nothing to do with adding additional playoff games. They're just adding more divisons.

So, where exactly will the central section wind up?

It depends on the division. Some would be NorCal & the others would be SoCal. It's a dumb proposal if you ask me.

Coach Clements

I know that our D3/4 wound up in NorCal.  They used us to balance the numbers.

This is not a joke or trying to start any problems, but does any one know the reason why the central section becomes a part of SOCAL when it comes to state? I am asking because there are so many more schools in SOCAL than NORCAL it dosent make sense to me. I am sure there is a reason I was kinda wondering if anyone knew.

I have never seen any reason. Maybe I'll see if someone over at CalHiSports can answer that question.
