This will get some interesting debate.  The first proposals of moving football teams around for playoffs is on the table.  Understand that this will change several times before April final vote.  Also remember that Arroyo Grande & Paso Robles are joining our section (D-1 or D-2), plus Atascadero (D-2/D-3), Nipomo, Morro Bay, San Luis, Templeton.

D-1:  Sanger & Ridgeview move up.  Clovis East, Stockdale, Frontier move down to D-2
D-2: Dinuba, Garces, Independence, Lemoore, Redwood, Sunnyside, Union, West, El D....plus Hanford who is being moved up.
D-3: BCHS, Fresno, Golden Valley, Highland, Madera, Mission Oak, North, South, Western, Tehachapi, SJM, Kingsburg...plus adding Chowchilla who is being moved up.

Okay...here is where it becomes very puzzling:

D-4:  Adding Porterville, Reedley, Delano, Hoover, Monache, Mt Whitney, East, and MENDOTA (with their 600 kids) to a division with Golden West (EYL co-champs), Mad South (2400 kids), Roosevelt (2400 kids)....CVC, Chavez, Exeter (800 kids), Kerman, Liberty, Selma, Taft, Washington, Wasco.

Could argue that D-3 is easier than D-4 now.

D-5: Hanf West, McLane, Mira Monte, Arvin, Foothill, Coalinga being dropped down.  Kennedy being moved up.
Bishop, Caruthers, Corcoran, Dos Palos, Farmersville, Firebaugh, Fowler, Immanuel, Kern Valley, Sierra, Woodlake, Yosemite, Desert.

D-6:  Strathmore stays down!!!
Parlier, Rosamond, Shafter, Lindsay moved down to join Avenal, CA City, Frazier, Laton, Granite Hills, McFarland, Minarets, Orange Cove, Riverdale, Sierra Pacific, Tranquility, Orosi.

and let the debates begin.....

Better Today, Not as Good as Tomorrow

The Eye in the Sky

It would be a joke if teams like Mad South, Roosevelt, Mt. Whitney, Porterville, Reedley, GW, and Selma were allowed to play in D4. Apparently Selma is the new WU minus the transfers.
Coach- " So they're gonna let you run the ball this year huh."
Player-" If they wanna win they will."

Down down kick

Can someone explain this?

Selma beat Chowchilla in the Valley Championship game this year.

Which of course to the the Central Section Office that that they need to move up Chowchilla and Keep Selma Down (-_-)

Really?
Because a football game is just sixty minutes, but I'm training six, seven hours in every day. So, going for sixty minutes becomes easy. More importantly, I think that your muscles mature and can move in all different directions.

Mt.Whitney, Golden West & Porterville should be in D3, not D4.

Hanford West & McLane have no business in D5.

Strathmore should be punished and moved up a Division like most other Valley Champs.

IMO, there are too many Divisions, and D6 should be eliminated all together.

I'll start from the bottom up.
Shafter and Lindsay have no busy going to D6 just like GH, SP, and RFK shouldn't be. Those schools have more students than some D4 schools. Farmersville should go down. 0-2 in D5 playoffs.

HW should try going to CSL before dropping to D5, come on an WYL school in D5? Same goes for McLane & Foothill. Mira Monte, Arvin and Coalinga are ok,

NONE of those schools should be added to D4, Mendota could challenge but for how long. Look at LMR.

Everything from D1-D3 is okay I guess but I would add GW and Selma to D3. D4 will be the biggest mess with all those schools.

I just don't see CUSD leggings Clovis East drop to D2.

DEE

why would chowchilla get moved up to D3 and Selma remain in D4 ?? also McLane to D5 ? and Golden West at D4, no they should be D3

I have and will continue to be in favor of 3 divisions, like the old Yosemite, Sequoia and Sierra. D1 & 2 together, D 3&4 and the rest make up the 3rd.

Mr. Football

New rule for divisions-
2000+ student= Division 3 or higher
Go to the playoffs= you do Not drop division the next year

Potential 2018 D1 Teams

1.Clovis
2Clovis West
3Clovis East
4Clovis North
5Buchanan
6Central
7Bullard
8Edison
9Bakersfield
10Liberty

Potentially:

Could it be possible to have a full 16 team D1 playoff bracket?  When was the last year the valley had that?

The last one division Yosemite bracket was 1996 I believe.  Redwood won 4 road games to win a valley title.
1997 started the 8 team split (Yosemite large/small).  2004 was the first 5 division year where playoff divisions in FB were not tied to leagues.

Only reason I could see Chowchilla being moved up to D3 and selma staying at D4 is they made it to valley championship in D4 2 yrs in a row and selma only winning it this year . My opinion though we'll see

I'm sitting here shaking my head. As a team that is spayed to go down. I don't want to go down, and more than likely barring any admin overrules, we will partition to stay up. But this whole thing is a cluster because of the cif's policy of competitive equity.

Curret   CVC  is  only 286  Kids not  800  Kids

I think you mean k-12  800   But   9-12    only count High school  Students

But  if CIF central section   and  ya want  say cvc have  800   k-12   then    Our Freshman and JV and  Varisty  be    Undefeat    9 Years from  6-12  grades

Most  the  Kids   play for Visalia cavs    yorth   football be easy be  on Freshman and JV and Varisty  teams   Easy

Just think  how many Kids   just youth football Program     this Past 4 years be  Undefeat  and   only 1-2  Loss   this past 4 years for Visalia cavs  Program

and Most  them go to CVC   k-8  grades

What youth league are they in? and what teams do they play. Cause I would love to see the Tulare Tarheels vs them.

I think all of the D1 teams from the fresno clovis area should be in the same league.  That would make it a 9 team league if you add in Sanger.  you could make 2 conferences with possibly a cross over game or find another team to add to make it an even 10 teams.  Thoughts
