Its been a couple of weeks since I asked, but has Frontier and Foothill even started interviews yet, I know the other thread mentioned that they wanted more applicants

What did I miss to get the other thread locked up?

I'm new to this forum. Pretty cool to be a part of all the Valley football minds. From what I've heard, Foothill is having no luck whatsoever. Really sad to a school with some football tradition. This info coming from a youth coach that feeds into a Foothill.

As for Frontier, does anyone have a clue what's going on over there?

was just told that Foothill is looking at hiring a golden empire Coach for their next coach.

Man, that's a stretch. Considering the history of the school, you would think there might be more alumni support that could generate interest in candidates.

I was talking to my assistants today about foothill.  It really comes down to the admin.  They did not make the job enticing enough.  I know they can not pay people more money.  But if a principal really wanted to get someone who is competent in there.  They could do it.  It starts with schedule and then moves to a prep buy out.  Plus making room for two assistants.

Foothill is a project...but it's not impossible.  The school has to give the next guy every tool possible to be successful.  It is not easy and takes a principal who is willing to receive some heat to turn the program around.

It's our Junior program league.

In Kern County, how long are Principals staying at one school?  It seems that the tenure is getting shorter and shorter in Clovis, at least.   If that's true in the south valley as well, then the commitment needs to come from higher up than the Principal....  developing a "program" is different takes time... six seasons to go from 7th grade to graduating and I don't know how many Principals last that long anymore.

Add Wasco to the list.  Coach was asked to "step down"...

Per BVarsity

Rick Van Horn and Coach Bandy (OC at Ridgeview) are the finalist at Frontier.

Either of those two guys would be a good choice

Darth Backer

I think Frontier could be a diamond in the rough.  They have a pretty solid wrestling program and that can lead to playing some pretty good defense. From an outsiders perspective it looks like a pretty decent district too.

Darth I get the impression that like every other school in the KHSD, so much hinges of the support the admin is willing to give. Will the head coach get help having on campus coaches, favorable schedule, true strong body for athletes classes, etc. We all know that realistic expectations must be had for each individual school.
Force you know first hand, what's your take?

the football job is good....and after speaking to a few of the candidates.  The teaching job is where the stick is going to be.  The guys said the Admin is talking 5 core classes.  Not a good set up for  a coach.

Down down kick

Anybody know what happened at wasco? They had a solid season. Seems strange to replace a winning coach this late.
Because a football game is just sixty minutes, but I'm training six, seven hours in every day. So, going for sixty minutes becomes easy. More importantly, I think that your muscles mature and can move in all different directions.
