I actually going to watch them play Friday night against Granite Bay. My cousins went there & now their oldest son is playing football there. He's turned that program around. Beating Granite Bay will be a milestone victory for the Mariners.

If they don't finish 4-1 in league play then that's just disappointing. The TRAC isn't what it once was. Clovis North of course is heads above everyone else. Edison, Bakersfield & Clovis North are obviously the top three teams in the valley. Bullard, CW & Liberty are the next three in line. Upsets can happen.
3  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Week 4 Maxpreps State Bowl Rankings for SoCal on: September 26, 2014, 05:03:24 PM
They seem to always struggle in Trinity League play. They're 34-5 in non league under Hartigan & 5-30 in Trinity League play. It just shows the kind of talent the rest of the league has. They have finished 2-3 once, 1-4 three times & then 0-5 three times in seven seasons.

It amazes me that we still have to have this conversation every time a controversy occurs that involves Central Valley football.
5  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Clovis East on: September 23, 2014, 09:34:39 PM
Wing-T, T-wing, Double Wing, Lil' Wayne, call it whatever you want.  It's still the same offense.  As long as someone with your IQ can understand it, I am sure others will understand it too.
Wing T & whatever it is that the T Wolves ran under Tim Murphy are not that the same. Similar but not the same.

It's where the balls is when his knees come down. Your pictures doesn't show that. Stop sniveling sissy boy.  Very Happy
Forward progress.

Glenn Really.  Stop making every post about the mediocre CSL. Only teams that are decent in that leauge is Dinuba and CVC.  All other schools are having a down year. Stop blowing smoke, take your ADD med's and stay with what the posted topic is.
Back to Madera South. Congrats and good win. We all know how hard it is to turn a program around. Great start and good luck to the coaches and players.
Uncalled for.
8  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Why does Baseball make a big deal about winning a Division? on: September 19, 2014, 03:31:25 AM
As I said it's not as important in the other sports as it is on baseball.
9  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Good bye Giants ... Hello Astros on: September 19, 2014, 03:29:55 AM
You think attendance would be any better it the stadium was further north? I read something today about how some investors initially wanted to build in Clovis but the city turned it down.
10  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: IF All NFL Players Were Like Jerry Rice The League Wouldn't Have Issues on: September 18, 2014, 04:54:26 PM
Even a lambs fan can acknowledge the greatest of all time.
11  Everything Else / College and Pros / Re: Why does Baseball make a big deal about winning a Division? on: September 18, 2014, 04:53:36 PM
There are five teams in each division of MLB. So the division winner is better than four teams. In MLB a third of the teams make the playoffs unlike the NHL & NBA where more than half the teams make the division. Plus it's a longer season then all the other leagues.

Why isn't Francis coaching & what's Rigby doing?
13  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Central???????? on: September 17, 2014, 08:43:38 PM
I really don't understand the dislike that some people have for Quinn. He's a completely different coach than Garza. But they're both great coaches. Coaches either get too much blame or too much credit. I think the lack of championships ultimately falls on the players.
14  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Central???????? on: September 17, 2014, 09:29:35 AM
Central has been competitive since 2009 and has were co champs a few times in the last few years. The frosh and JV programs have also been successful. The question is, why all of a sudden is central not very good? You would think that success fuel motivation and motivation results in consistency.
Yes but they weren't much from 2000 till 2007.
15  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Central???????? on: September 17, 2014, 08:19:00 AM
They just don't have the athletes that they have had the last few years. They look more like the teams from pre 2009.
16  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: where's the refs? on: September 17, 2014, 08:16:31 AM
Many years ago I was at a game standing behind the endzone.  A team (not CW) was up by one and was punting out of their own endzone with only a minute or two left.  The punter set up about a foot from the back of the endzone.  The ref made a point of telling him that if his heel touches that backline while receiving the snap or kicking the ball, he will call a safety.  The kid moved up a little but not much.  Sure enough, the snap was a little off causing the punter to take a stutter step, and you guessed it, his heel hit the back line, maybe as little as an inch, but the ref was right on top of it.

He called a safety, the team lost by a point, and the ref had to be escorted off the field.  There was no consoling the angry crowd, who was convinced that the ref threw the game.  I wasn't sure they guy was going to make it to his car.  I gained a whole new respect for those guys.

Having said that, everybody knows CW got home jobbed by the refs in the 06 game at Madera by the "3 Blind Mice".
Do you mean the phantom clipping call after a kickoff was returned for a touchdown or the phantom holding call on what would have been the game winning touchdown?
17  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: where's the refs? on: September 17, 2014, 08:14:41 AM
Font is too small for them to read anyway.
Especially if they work games in Madera.

My mom also made me pick out which switch I would receive my punishment with. I always went with the thinner branches. If they didn't meet her needs then it was a wooden spoon. I eventually started breaking the spoons. Of course there wasn't anything I could do about her hand. Keep in mind I am only 26. So this wasn't that long ago. I think I turned out ok.
19  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Big games week 2 on: September 12, 2014, 11:40:38 AM
In recent history Pitman has been the better team in Turlock. It's a newer school.
20  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Dinuba @ Hanford , ALA the Smelly Water Bowl on: September 12, 2014, 08:26:07 AM
So you're saying they have water in Hanford & Dinuba. Many small towns across the state are jealous.
