1  Central Section / Baseball / Re: Playoffs on: Yesterday at 07:43:26 PM
I'd love to see a College World Series format for the playoffs. They should do the same thing when the state playoffs come around.
2  Central Section / Central Section Football / No more Redskins???? on: April 22, 2015, 11:34:11 AM
t sounds like our lovely state legislature & governor are going to sign a bill that will force high schools to no longer use the "Redskin" name. Is the state going to take the nil for all the change these schools will have to make?
3  Central Section / Baseball / Re: TRAC April 21-24 on: April 21, 2015, 09:15:54 PM
Buchanan beats CW 2-0 on Loeprich's 3 hitter. CW loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh. Loeprich got one last strikeout to end it.
4  Central Section / Baseball / Re: TRAC April 21-24 on: April 21, 2015, 09:41:18 AM
"Depth"????? Where? I assume you mean pitching depth. You cant be talking about depth through out the line up.
Yes pitching depth. I think they proved that at the Boras Classic over spring break.
5  Central Section / Baseball / Re: TRAC April 21-24 on: April 20, 2015, 06:27:39 PM
So you see them losing two more games in league & CW winning out? Because if they split Buchanan sti will hold a one game lead. I think CW wins 5 of their last 6. The one loss being this week to Buchanan. But I don't see Buchanan losing to anyone else either. Clovis is playing better & Clovis North is playing worse. But they just don't have the depth Buchanan & Clovis West do.
6  Central Section / Baseball / Re: TRAC on: April 17, 2015, 07:24:42 PM

Clovis West beats Central 7-2. Same score as Tuesday.
Clovis & Clovis North scoreless in the 4th.

Heard the same thing a while back. It'd be nice for the TRAC to be more balanced again. It's seemed to be all Clovis West & Central lately.

Glenn, Fresno High is actually the host of the tournament. Chamoionship game is held at CW because of capacity & the facility is just better than what the Fresno schools have. But it'd be cool to see it grow to a national level. They've had a few out of state schools play in it. Crater from Oregon has played in it a few years in a row now. There have been some teams from Arizona & Nevada too I think.  They play great baseball in Georgia. They had the fourth most major leaguers last year.

1. California 223
2. Texas 119
3. Florida 92
4. Georgia 46

Jason Heyward & Buster Posey are two that immediately come to mind.

Clovis North vs Clovis West
Buchanan vs Central
Clovis vs Clovis East
This is when things get really interesting. The CW/CN series is the one that could turn the tide of who wins league. CN won 14-2 in their first game. CW is coming off of a great week at the Boras Classic.
15  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Get ready for more state bowl games on: April 07, 2015, 12:17:28 PM
This is not a joke or trying to start any problems, but does any one know the reason why the central section becomes a part of SOCAL when it comes to state? I am asking because there are so many more schools in SOCAL than NORCAL it dosent make sense to me. I am sure there is a reason I was kinda wondering if anyone knew.
I have never seen any reason. Maybe I'll see if someone over at CalHiSports can answer that question.
16  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Get ready for more state bowl games on: April 07, 2015, 08:20:16 AM
So, where exactly will the central section wind up?
It depends on the division. Some would be NorCal & the others would be SoCal. It's a dumb proposal if you ask me.
17  Central Section / Central Section Football / Re: Get ready for more state bowl games on: April 06, 2015, 10:08:31 PM
They passed the proposal but very far from being final approved. The consideration is still to many games to plau for young kids.
It has nothing to do with adding additional playoff games. They're just adding more divisons.
18  Central Section / Baseball / Re: Clovis West & Stockdale at the Boras Classic on: April 02, 2015, 11:31:35 PM
Clovis West loses 1-0 in 10 innings in the NorCal chamoionship of the Boras Classic. Great showing by them this week. Many have said it's a down year overall for the TRAC. If that's true then this is really scary for the rest of the valley & state. They played 3 teams that have been ranked in the state top 20 all year. Beat two of those teams. Their pitching was outstanding. Especially tonight after having played 13 innings the night before.
19  Central Section / Baseball / Re: Easter Classic on: April 02, 2015, 03:02:36 AM
Clovis West beats Elk Grove 2-1 in 13 innings! Another great win for Clovis West. They'll play St. Francis in the championship game Thursday night at 7. Honestly didn't see them playing like this up north. Another team making the Valley baseball look good.
20  Central Section / Baseball / Re: Easter Classic on: April 01, 2015, 03:34:17 PM
Clovis & Memorial playing for the championship tonight at 7:30 at Clovis West. Both teams get in because of teams who went 4-0 have contact limits from their section & the championship game would put them over. This is the biggest down fall of this tournament. They should really go to a bracket format. I know that'll be tough to do with 30+ teams but I think they could find a way.
