Expansion of the Valley Elite Youth Football League

Last night, the Valley Elite Board of Directors unanimously voted to approve the addition of West Yosemite Youth Football of Visalia. This team is bringing 3 teams at each level for our Mighty Might, Pee Wee, and Junior divisions.

The Valley Elite League also moved forward in the creation of a Senior Division for 7th and 8th graders for teams that have a need for this division.  West Yosemite Youth Football will be bringing 2 teams for this new division.

The goal of the league is to add competitive teams to a Northern Division and Southern Division and have 8 to 10 teams in each division. Each team will play within their division and cross play a couple games with the other division. Each division will have playoffs within their division and the North Division Champion will play the South Division Champion for a true Valley Elite Super Bowl.  The divisions will be set up to minimize travel time on game days.

The Valley Elite is a grade based league with each team represented on the Board of Directors and having voting rights.  The Officers on the Board of Directors are on a yearly rotational basis based on mascot name to prevent a dictatorship type of league.  The Commissioner is a public figure only for the league and has no powers to make changes.  All changes are made by popular vote by the Board of Directors.

The Valley Elite also has an agreement to cross play with the WCFA teams in the Central High and Madera areas.

Edison and Memorial will both be bringing Mighty Might, Pee Wee, Junior, and Senior Divisions for the 2013 season.
