I have noticed that a lot of schools have different logos for different sports. The football school logo is different than the baseball logo. I'm my opinion this makes absolutely no sense. It seems this type of decision is driven by ego and does not create oneness amongst the athletes or student body.  I don't understand why the person in charge would not just make all the sports adopt one logo. Can someone help me understand?

Count me as one who doesn't get it. I spent time in school study marketing, as well as some time in the real world in marketing, and your corporate message/image is HUGE. Company's spend millions to build it up, schools are no different IMHO.

you are 100% correct Grizz, I have noticed the same thing. I think its ridiculous, I also don't like when football teams change their helmet logo, I have noticed trhat this will happen when a new coach takes over.
I blame the AD for allowing the coaches of the individual sports to change the logos.

You know I was that way when I was younger....my program...my look.  Now that I am a little older(just a little) I think there are a few things that you never mess with.  1 being the helmet logo.  There is something to be said for tradition, helmet logos are one of them.  Now on the flip side I try to do a different logo on my spring football tshirts every year.  I think it keeps it fresh for the kids.  My spirit pack shirts are mostly the same each year.  I just change the shirt colors.

What do you guys think of the new Oregon State unis?  Are they trying to be like the Ducks?

A lot of programs have changed their helmet logos through the years, and sometimes the new logo had been adapted for apparel in lieu of the traditional logo.  I think coaches use a new helmet logo as a new team (not school) identity, and its happens from high school to the pros.  I love tradition, but dont think there is anything wrong with changing the helmet logo every few years.

I like the new unis for Oregon State but not sure I like the logo, I liked the old one.
I don't like the changing of the helmet logo, I especially don't like it when every varsity team (same school) has a completely different logo

Bro how can you say you "love tradition" and then say you don't think there is anything wrong with changing the helmet logo every few years?  IMHO there is no tradition in that.  There is no tradition when all teams have had the same mascot/logo and now at the same high school there is a different logo for baseball, football, basketball etc.  it just does not make sense to me. But I like to keep things simple  so that maybe why. Smile

So, you can only imagine the stockpiles of unused helmet logos CW has accumulated since 2007.

I liked there old school classic USC look w/ the CW on the helmet much better then the white or red pants they had for a while . And the 'Philly" eagle never seemed like it said C-Dub to me : But what do I know , I'm a traditionalist I guess (just like I despise the blue pants that the Cougars sport once in a while).

If you are referring to Clovis High as "ain't ur granddaddy's team no mo" let me remind you that the Cougars won Valley Championships wearing those uniforms in 74/79/84/91/97/99/02 Thumbs Up Thumbs Up & Conference Championships in  74/80/84/87/88/89/90/91/94/96/99/01/02 Thumbs Up Thumbs Up . They also appeared in the CIF Championship Game wearing those uniforms in 74/79/84/85/87/91/92/96/97/99/01/02  Thumbs Up So - if this ain't ur grandaddys team no more -maybe it should be !!! Very Happy

I'd say that MOST schools have all different kinds of logos.  It's pretty rare to see a school that has a single logo that is used with all sports?
