Tolestoy in A Confession writes that politics is violence; it is force. So, I don't expect politicians to ever correct the problems, but merely to rearrange the table for the next set of politicians to use their forces and all the while we are furhter enslaved, i.e. we lose our freedoms of choice.

You know I've never understood why the US so freely gives so much money to other countries not in need and fully functioning by itself. National tragedies are 1 thing. While being 17 trillion in debt, more citizens in the history on welfare and food stamps, poverty at all time highs, lack of decent paying jobs, while maintaining a decent salary. So many bankrupt, inept, and corrupt government programs. The best thing a country could ever do is help it's own but don't do that. We help everyone but our own. Idiocracy at its finest!

One of my favorite quotes from Tolstoy

: "The truth is that the State is a conspiracy designed not only to exploit, but above all to corrupt its citizens ... Henceforth, I shall never serve any government anywhere."

He was a rich kid turned nonviolent anarchist.  I still haven't finished War and Peace
