Kind of like the BHS scrimmage....

CW 1 TD, late, 1 Pick

Memorial 2 TD's, 1 Pick

I was there for the first three quarters. Caleb Kelly had a pick 6 that made you realize why he is getting some attention. He stepped, grabbed the pick and was in the endzone before you even realized what had happened.

San Joaquin Memorial's defense looked pretty dominant. It seemed like aside from a few big plays they were always in the right spot at the right time. SJM's linebackers are either studs or the CW's offense made them look that way. They just took over and for the most part CW couldn't move the ball against them.

It was almost the same on the other side. SJM's offense looked okay but not spectacular. Again, not sure if it was just great defense or mediocre offense. Or both.

On the JV side CW pretty much had their way with SJM. Both sides played decent but CW just has better talent and more of it at this point. One JV standout was Rodney Wright's kid, Rodney Jr. He's a burner.

Final take from obviously a limited scrimmage. #1: I think SJM will be better than people think this year. #2: CW is a year away being REALLY good.

A year away? Come on.

Just my opinion. CW was not impressive. I was expecting a different game but they pretty much got bounced around by a middle-tier D2 team. It's a scrimmage so who knows but I was surprised because I was expecting to see CW dominate not the other way around. However, there is a lot of talent on the CW side and a lot of talent on the way up so yes I do think they are a year or so away.

CW was missing more than a few starters on both sides of the ball.
The Timberwolves still don't stand a chance......

We've heard the same thing the last few years. At some point, we need to move on. CW isn't going to be like it was. It doesn't matter if you have long time coaches there from the past helping either. The tradition of CW football probably won't be around for awhile.

They'll have their work cut out for them on Friday. Merced is a tough team. Merced also has the pleasure of playing against Edison & Clovis North.

Why do you guys even comment on this guys post's??? He's obviously a CW hater. He does this every season. Post more about CW than he's does about his own team. Bash the best somewhere else. You wish your wolves had a team even close to the eagles.

I know.  In my era, CW and CE were the undisputed bad asses of the Central Section.  Just reminiscing....

It's going to be a long time CW fans and it's the same for CE. I'm not trying to be a hater either. It's is what is. Coaches can't assume that they are going to be good because of the pats. They need teach and motivate players instead of standing around and blowing a whistle.

Its obvious you haven't seen a CW practice this season. Coach George is all over the field... Teaching, hollering, making sure things are done his way. He installed his O & D personally all the way down to the 7th grade team. He wants to rebuild Rome. There's LOTS of talent in the area to do it with.

As for CE. No one wants to coach in the area...... Plain and simple. Feeder elementary schools ARE always at the bottom. Reyburn is just horrific and CE is like the 2 others... No hope.
