Not sure who caught the game last night, but WHAT A GAME!!!  Was rooting for the Irish and thought they had won in the final seconds but a penalty yank victory from their grasp.....Both teams played their tails off....great job gentlemen!!!!

Agree....didn't look like a penalty to me even though the announcer said it was....not saying the Irish got hosed but that one was questionable...

Best college game this year!  The call...those refs had to be briefed on that penalty and be REALLY looking for it.

Best game Ive seen in a while.  Even made the ole lady watch and she enjoyed it, that's how I know it was good.   :)  Weak penalty.   Both players engaged.  DB was jamming and happy about it.  Didn't like the call.  Bowl game atmosphere.

National Championship atmosphere. Notre Dame is better now than they were when they lost to Alabama in the championship game. In my opinion they should be considered for one of the four "playoff" spots. The other 3 should be Florida State, Mississippi State & Mississippi. As much as I hate the SEC I know they'll get two teams in. Whoever wins the SEC if it's a team from the West & the second place team from the SEC division. Oregon is overrated. Ucla unfortunately seems to have been very overrated as well. I'd love to see at least 8 teams in the FBS playoffs. Make it 20 like they do in the FCS.

Unfortunately I didn't see the game. From listening to the sports radio guys, sounds like it was something that happened throughout the game. Not sure if it was called or not or if officials warned if they kept doing it then they'd penalize em.

My opinion, if you call it in the first minute, call it in the final minute.

one is institutionally (both in the school and the community) coddling criminals ....

while the other is so self righteously pious ..... they hold themselves out t be "different from the rest"...... yet their treatment of and student's rape by players was no different than FSU..... and they didn't change the way they handled sexual assaults until that girl was dead and their Title IX funding was on the line...

Agree 100 percent with scrubster on this one.  Even the schools and institutions that do it right, and are light years more ethical and direct when it comes to academic and personal behavior accountability,  still have exceptions galore.  Until the NCAA adopts an independent council of  40 rotating investigators/compliance officers/auditors that actually perform random 3 week in house all encompassing school audits with 100 % full autonomy during their visits, schools like the SEC cheats, the normal cast of  regular characters you hear about on this topic, and even the GOOD GUYS, will continue to bend, break, ignore, or turn a blind eye to the crap being  swept Under the rug. 

The hypocrisy of Notre Dame and the blatant examples Scrub points out is just as bad as the Florida State blatant disregard for the rules and for what is right.  Both examples are just as heinous.

While I agree with you and Scrub, this isn't going to change so long as it's a billion dollar business for these schools and the NCAA......those school president, AD's, and coaches NEED their first class perks and multi-million dollar pay checks and inconvenient rules compliance would put that in jeopardy.

Mark Stoops: SEC officials admit wrong call in Kentucky-South Carolina game

LEXINGTON, KY. — Officials blew a critical late call against the University of Kentucky football team in the Wildcats' 35-28 loss to 12th-ranked South Carolina on Saturday night, coach Mark Stoops said Monday.

"Just got off the phone with Steve Shaw," the Southeastern Conference's coordinator of football officials, Stoops said, "and they made a mistake. They were wrong."

The bad call came with 2:15 remaining in the game, after Kentucky had climbed back from a 20-point deficit in the fourth quarter and trailed by just a touchdown. The Gamecocks had just picked up a first down and the Cats called a timeout. Out of the stoppage, Kentucky was flagged for an illegal substitution — 12 men on the field — making it a first-and-5. South Carolina converted the clinching first down two plays later.

Think you might have lost track of the context here.....we were talking about the NCAA and the schools not holding their players and teams accountable for NCAA rules violations.....
