who in their right mind would want the North or Taft jobs?

The North job would be a much better job.  Chad got that boat righted, and at least floating in the right direction.  They are also in a league they can compete in and win.  Taft and the admin there is a big giant to take on, and one that seems to have a lot of baggage to walk into.  Both are tough jobs but I think North is a better job currently.

They've interviewed and have 3 finalists.  Surprised it has been kept so quiet.............must be communicating via Hillary Clinton's private e-mail.

Mark Hetherington has been named the head coach at Central High School.  He was the OC there a few years ago, but left to be the QB coach at FCC.  From what I have heard Garza's surgery went well, it's just the recovery that is taking time.  I'm not sure how this works in the future of the program, but for now Mark is going full steam ahead as the HC.

Noticed on max preps that they had 3 losses by forfeit and finished the season 1-9.  Anyone know what the situation was,there?

Used an ineligible player the first 3 games.  Self-reported it when they realized it and it cost them 3 wins.  Also had a player pass away in a car crash I think. Tough year.

TejonUSD is in real financial trouble. Student population has declined to 700 K~12. Need to consolidate and close at least one school probably the middle school. The HS #'s may preclude 11 man football (?) Stay tuned!

If they drop to 8-man they will struggle to find games unless they announce quickly. The Central Sierra 8-man league could potentially take them but they might be better in the Southern Section's Coast Valley League w/ Maricopa and Cuyama Valley. Defeats the purpose of joining the CSL.

As I was reading this post I couldn't help but find myself thinking that BCHS is not very far removed from 8 man football. If tuition continues to spike and support wavers, as enrollment goes down, and they don't make a good hire, It's a very real possibility that they could find themselves in a real quandry that they didn't think of prior to the dismissal of a state runner up coach and valley champion.

GHF, what is considered a "good hire" at BCHS now, or at a KHSD school? It's obvious that expirence and running a good program is not high on the list. Other than Nixion being hired at Liberty and Gass at garces take a look at the last few hires. It's become very evident that the admins within the Greater Bakersfield area want guys that they can manipulate and will do as they are told and will let the inmates run the asylum
