Wow...met him...liked him... :(
Don't think he is the problem...

Lincoln took over a sinking ship. I don't think Eames leaving was a coincidence; I'm sure he saw the writing on the wall.  Didn't feel like hanging out to eat his own humble pie.

I have to disagree with you spad. I know Eames personally & he had been trying to step down long before he did. I am not going to go further with this, but the district wouldn't let him. I never heard him say so, but I think he was suffering from burn out long before he stepped down.

The situation at Yosemite is baffling.  I have never seen a football program fall off so quickly.  People have said that the opening of Minarets has hurt them.  I don't doubt that.  I know of two players that played in the youth program at yosemite are now playing at Clovis North.  Are there kids walking around the campus at Yosemite that used to be football players???  Mass defection from the program or Coaching or what???? Whatever it is.....it is sad to see.

They were moved down to D-5, so they should have been somewhat more competitive. They played more teams approximately their same size. Lincoln was a longtime assistant to Eames & I considered him a very competent coach, so I agree with your statement that the situation is very baffling. Minarets would have been a major factor if YHS had of stayed in D-3, but with less students they were moved down to a division where they should have been a little more competitive. Injuries & a low turn certainly played a large role. The Minarets FB program is at about the same point as YHS, so if you put both programs together, you would still only have a mediocre team. Talent comes in cycles & they are just at the low point.

The issue facing Yosemite over the past few seasons is not just the drop in talent, that happens at most schools. The issue to me is the inability to be competitive in those games. I think that is the baffling aspect of all this. You see the rise and drop of a lot of programs but not usually to this extent. It makes you wonder how much a coaching change will help, I feel like with the right coach they can at least become more competitive even if they do not regain past glory

You just might be right. We will see. When my son was  at YHS we won 2 CIF titles & either won or were co-winners of league every year. It just breaks my heart to see this.

That's the beauty of high school football. You can have an impact with a good coaching change and the same kids. I think they maybe just need somebody that hasn't been in or around that program for a change.
