Lets not get it twisted Kingsburg wasn't that great last year, their defense was not spectacular, Steele shouldn't have been ran out, but he's not a football genius either.  CVC and Dinuba run this league now, with the Burg in 3rd.  Selma has too many people pulling in different directions, if the new guy can bring them together they have a chance to improve, but for the foreseeable future its about Dinuba and CVC.

These are the kind of posts that gets me scratching my head, Kingsburg wasnt great, and their defense wasnt spectacular is just bogus to me.
Kingsburg is just fine, 95% of the schools in the valley can only dream of the recent past accomplishments the Vikings have had.

If Kingsburg were in D4, like it is suppose to be, and was never forced up to D2, and D3, these topics, about Kingsburgs greatness, and their not so good defense, like kingsburg is some kind of a scrub team :huh: that kind of talk wouldnt be happening.

I cant remember any of the D4 schools in the valley that has jump up three divisions like the way Kingsburg did.

Just to let you guys know, I believe that since moving up those three divisions, In the playoff, Kingsburg has either won a valley championship, lost to the valley champion, or loss to the valley runner-up. 

I respect Dinuba and CVC, but I always question these schools pretty weak non league schedules, especially since the CSL at times, cover something like three football divisions. IMO, it doesnt help the CSL come playoff seeding time.

Your points about Steele, not being a football genius are confusing to me, what he's accomplished at Kingsburgs have been remarkable.
Im not a Kingsburg historian, but Im sure Kingsburg had losing seasons, and struggled just being in D4 before Steele took over.
FYI, Im not a north valley fan, especially, a Kingsburg fan, they have cost the south valley several valley titles. :D

Kingsburg is D2, granted they might not belong there, however to D4 opponents teams last year they gave up close to 26 PPG (Golden West, Washington Union, Coalinga, CVC, Exeter, Selma).  40 to CVC, which was a good D4 team, 29 to Golden West a middle pack D4 team, and 48 to Washington Union who was a bad D4 team!  According to max preps they had 48 kids on the roster, so you should have been deeper than those opponents.  Kingsburg has always been stronger on offense than on defense.  Steele is a good coach, but defensively they were not a force, and have not been.

Those D4 schools that you've mention, to make your point about the Vikings defense is just ridiculous.

I dont have time to refute every game that the Vikings played last year, but think about this, Kingsburg was 4-2 in those so call D4 games, all those games won by the Vikings, were by three, or four touchdowns, and most of those D4 games were over by halftime.

FYI, WU was in D3, which gives the Vikings a 4-1 record vs D4 schools last year.
I dont feel like doing the reseach, but Im sure coach Steele seven year record vs D4 schools is crazy good.

Those so call D4 losses ( CVC,and D3 WU ) both losses were by six points, which includes a OT loss to D3 WU.

Had the Vikings been in D4 last year, like they should be, you could argue they would have been ranked in the top 5 of D4.

I dont even like Kingsburg, for obvious reasons, but your last sentence about Kingsburg is just ridiculous, no comment.

You should have good feeling about Kingsburg this year, the program has been led properly, and on solid ground.

Kingsburg has been led so well, that a D4 school with just 1100 students, jump all the way up to D2.

Now Kingsburg folks, as long as the Vikings are getting forced up divisions, expect Kingburg to struggle every once in a while.
Kingburg in D2, even D3 is a stretch year in, year out.

IMO, The CSL is a perfect D4 league, which is the division Kingsburg should be in.

I think, had Kingsburg never moved up divisions, Steele would be the head coach at Kingsburg right now.

We'll see how my schedule works out. SomeThursday/ Friday nights during the season I take off with the race hauler to races then my boy catches up after the game or flies in to drive the drag cars.....he's a busy kid....

The Vikings should not have lost either the WU or the CVC game last year..How do you score 7 TD's and not make one PAT? and the CVC game was lost at the end with a defensive mistake. Dinuba was just better. Twice.
There are some players in next year's class that should be able to carry the team, and many people (like the school board) think that there is real talent coming up.

We shall see. The move to D3 will take some pressure off.

The 48 kids on the roster included JV call ups for the post season.
