Heading out to the City County All-star game to watch City's Taylor Howard (#6) of Fresno Christian! Who else will be there?
I do want to acknowledge my friend Coach Cunnings of the county team and wish him and his boys well, but not TOO well. GO CITY!

Go County!!!
Hammerstrom #4
#4 made a couple of good plays.

City had the superior athletes and speed. County battled and had a 7 minute drive to open the game but couldn't finish. City played sloppy ball early and had several penalties but turned on the heat and capitalized on athlete mismatches in the 2nd half.

The foolish antics and unsportsmanlike penalties of handful of the city players were rather disappointing. dunking over the crossbar on his td, doing a celebration pose for no good reason after a play, getting escorted off the field and earning an unsportsmanlike penalty after some kind of negative comment (F-bomb maybe) to officials after a procedure penalty call, celebrating after every time they got near the ball.

The county kids were only marginally better, earning a couple of penalties for verbal taunting and shoving.

Nothing was as flagrant and ridiculous as in 2011 when an Edison kid acted like a real donkey's back end, but overall the lack of class and poise was glaring.

I know it is tough for coaches, who work with the kids for 20-25 hours before the game, to have a positive impact on their character and demeanor. However, it seemed like there was some congratulating and encouraging of bad behavior rather than confronting it, at least on the city sideline.

I wonder if I'm the only one who saw the game that way.

Agreed. ^^^^^^^  The city team basically acted  like hot shots the whole game. You could here how cocky they were all the way up to the stands. They need to restructure the teams in this game. County held there own for 3 qts but 7 D1 athletes vs a team with none will eventually wear on you.

I'm pretty sure it's more like 17 D1 athletes on City team.

They should expand the County team to include one or two Clovis schools and schools from Kings County.
