Several players, at least one starter, from CN were suspended yesterday for the semi-final vs CHS for the fight that happened in the quarter final vs. Buchanan.

This comes as no surprise given the district office bleeds Cougar blue.

THAT is the funniest thing I've read in a LONG time.....  step back and take a look at CN's porous boundaries and the rubber-stamp transfer policy that CUSD has instituted for a school that is absolutely in the WRONG place.... which has had some of the top administrators funneled through it to get it up to speed...  and THEN tell me how the district is biased toward ANY school other than the baby of the family....

don't late hit... don't cheap shot ... don't leave the bench...  and guess what.. you've got all your guys

Welcome to the board!  This first post qualifies as near epic.  I have always been under the impression the CUSD office once wore CW red and changed it to CN powder-blue in the last decade.  But that's an out of town impression.   :)

For something this high profile, I can almost guarantee you both teams' films were scrutinized by several levels of administration and CIF.  The rules on this are pretty clear.

Last time I checked players on BOTH teams were involved. Why are we not hearing about any Buchanan players getting suspended? Is it because they are no longer in the playoffs? Crickets.

Those will take effect next season..... your just not hearing about them. CIF clearly states this.
Poor people have voted DEMOCRAT for the last 50 years.....GUESS what....they are STILL POOR.

Does the D.O. bleed Cougar blue or did they suspend the players because they were involved with a brawl?

Just my opinion, but my opinion is right

Yes.

That's actually exactly right.

isn't it a CIF rule that if a player leaves the sideline/bench/dugout during a fight they are suspended for the next game? Sixty, that is some high level thinking, you should dumb it down for this guy he cant grasp that you can't suspend a player that doesn't have any more games.

the suspension is served in the next game in the next season the student athlete participates in. If the student is a basketball player, he sits the first basketball game. If his next sport is baseball, he is out for the first game of that season.

I thought that was the case. Can the school choose to suspend the player from school? Is it considered a fight like an on campus fight, I know kids will be suspended if they fight off campus.

As I understand the staffing at CN, there is an athletic dept. position supervised by the AD devoted to handling the 25+ transfers per week that they process. (I assume that includes both coming and going transfers.)

It makes sense, but I dont know CUSD's discipline policies. Maybe in-house suspension? Can a CUSD employee shed some light on the subject in general w/o discussing any specific student cases?

Looking at the film multiple times, there will be some Buchanan players that will not be playing in the first game beginning of next football season.  Coming off the bench warrants a one game suspension.  Come next beginning of next season, those players will be announced.  Heck, I bet the coaches already have an idea who some of those players may be.

Crazy what one cheap shot will do.  Sucks for Clovis North now as they are going to get toasted by Clovis on Friday.

They can be.  Typically they are not, unless the actions were particularly blatant or severe.  But it is a school activity, so administrators have nexus to administer school discipline if they deem it necessary.

No doubt that a lot of those Buchanan players will get a punishment.

I don't know if they will wait till next season or just suspend them from the other sports they play. I'm thinking the latter.

While it does suck for CN about those guys, but they willingly hurt their team by taking part in what went on.

Clovis was going to toast those guys come Friday either way.
